I know based on your post history you’re very passionate, but buddy this is a message board. You’re going to have to tolerate a whole lot of nonsense or run yourself crazy.

To be fair, he's the cause of much of the nonsense.

Badger..You need to stand down up there in Wisconsin....South Louisiana is a small community..A lot if us know this family. Your seriously fricked up take to call out a grieving mother is way out of line. You need to take a keyboard break and go learn some compassion. This kid graduated high school in May, she lost her son. Forgive her for expressing her angst in the best way she could muster.
I pray you were just having a bad moment and are not this much of an a-hole.

You're really ruining this thread. Not just you, but mainly you. We don't want you posting in here. Can you please stop?
I wish I could set up a poll so we could resoundingly vote you off this island.
Also, I think you could use a break from the internet and I really mean that. It's a deep hole that seems to have sucked you in.

Belal is the father and that is a translation, were you able to read the original post in the original language ?? By all accounts they are a great family. Settle down and let the families grieve, why is that so hard.
quote:
Kareem Badawi, 18, was home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the holidays. He had just completed his first semester at the University of Alabama, which he believed had a better engineering program than the University of Louisiana, said his father, Belal Badawi, 64.
He said he had given his son permission to go to New Orleans on New Year’s Eve with friends, many of whom were also on break from college.
Kareem had a kind heart and a great personality that attracted many friends, his parents said. He was the youngest of three children — he had a brother and a sister, who are 21 and 19. His father said that his son, who was 6-foot-5, was “beautiful” and that the family still referred to him as "the baby."
Badawi said that he and his family are devastated and shocked and that Kareem’s killing would be especially hard on his older brother, with whom Kareem was very close.
“That’s another tragedy,” Badawi said Thursday. “My son, he ended up with no brother in his life to share his life. That was his buddy.”
He said the family loved to travel together.
“Our life is going to be different,” Badawi said, his voice breaking at times. “It’s just changed now without him.”
In a statement, the president of the University of Alabama, Stuart R. Bell, said: “I grieve alongside family and friends of Kareem in their heartbreaking loss.”

Thank you for posting that. The Badawi’s are good people and don’t deserve anyone criticizing their words in the midst of unimaginable grief and pain. It makes it even worse that the a-hole who did this and took Kareem from them claimed to do it in the name of the religion they practice. May they have peace in the memory and love of Kareem.

As said above, Belal is his father and that is a Facebook translation.
I know some of the family and they are very nice people. Part of the local Albasha family.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but the placement of the blue roller ice chest seems to align with the view of one of the Cat’s Meow Bourbon Street live cameras. Unfortunately, the playback window for the feed has passed, so it's no longer possible to review the footage from that night. However, based on the pictures shared by Project NOLA, it appears that the chest would have been clearly visible in the live camera that looks north. Makes me wonder if that was intentional.

It wasn’t at Cats Meow.
It was at Bourbon and Orleans. It’s the river-side of Bourbon and the Canal-side of Orleans. It’s across Orleans from the Bourbon Orleans hotel, and catty corner from Tropical Isle. Those places must have lots of cameras.

Not sure if you guys will be able to see this as it's a Facebook video, but here's one of the victims, 18 year old Nikyra Dedeaux from Gulfport, MS, from earlier in the evening.

Where the coolers ended and where the piece of shite placed them may not be the same place. Would be very normal for them to have been left during the mayhem as they were not owned. Bury a pipe bomb in a cooler of beer it’s very possible someone stole it and dragged it around. That could be why they thought there were others’, is someone else stole it and dragged it a couple of blocks.

ust so you know the whole family is suffering! Sometimes in grief we don't say the right things or act the way others would prefer. Give her a break! She just lost a really good kid
This is why I wrote and then quickly deleted my response before hitting submit to the term “ tragic accident “. I have patronized their restaurant fivefold more than any other restaurant in the last 20 years and will continue to do so. They are an asset to our community and we should be focusing on supporting them as they come to terms with losing their beautiful son.
RIP to all victims.

How dare us have fun in this country.
I hope this attack propels Trump to go hard against ISIS again once he's sworn in.

frick this terrorist. That video is heartbreaking.
Judging by her clothing, she appears to be the girl who was on her phone in the street and tried to run at the last second, on the video of the truck hurtling down Bourbon
