I’m sorry, but frick CNN. Why does this need to be in your reporting…you even say it was blocks away:
quote:
Crowds had gathered to attend an open-air concert and New Year’s countdown, with restaurants offering special deals and performances, according to the city’s official website. LGBTQ parties featuring dancing and drag cabaret were taking place elsewhere on Bourbon Street, the heart of the city’s gay community – just blocks from where the incident took place.
The left can't let a moment like this not be about them. This is like the OT meme, "it could have been me".

Since people are saying it could be a rental, I used to work with them and will point out some things that stand out:
1. Rental trucks don't come with flag hitch mounts. If the killer did get one to make some type of political/religious statement in the attack, it seems like a whole lot effort that I'm doubting went into the planner attack.
2. Driver side tail light appears to have some dealer marking next to it. Plates are from Texas. Different states can carry rental tags from other states because of one way drops, but rental companies buy their cars directly from the manufacturer, so there wouldn't be any dealer specific branding on the vehicles. However, it's also possible for dealers to rent their own vehicles. I would imagine renting a Ford Lightning and heading to New Orleans would require more planning/wait time.
3. Truck bed has no bed liner. It's fairly cheap to get one sprayed in and ready to go shortly after. In Baton Rouge almost every truck we had got a spray in liner before delivery since it was fast and preserved the bed from getting scratched up to hell. Again, if a local dealer were doing this, I'd imagine they go through the same process. It seems more likely that it was purchased outright without a liner put in.
4. Tags are definitely hard to distinguish. All TX rental tags come with that specific color scheme of tag. I'm pretty sure it's also standard for any new TX tag owner if they don't request custom tags.
5. I don't see QR AOR bar codes on the passenger windows. Most rentals will still have those, but still could be a dealer rental. They wouldn't need those to check in vehicles since they wouldn't carry a ton to need a system for mass organization and tracking.
I think someone bought the cheapest Lightning they could get and made the solo journey to do what they had to do. Renting an electric truck might be a lot more expensive and time consuming than necessary to carry out what the killer was planning to do.

A New Year’s reveler has given a harrowing account of the “twisted” and “horribly disfigured” bodies he saw sprawled on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street after a terrorist plowed his truck into crowds. Jimmy Cothran, who sought cover in a nightclub as the carnage unfolded, told NBC News he counted eight bodies on the street in the immediate aftermath.
Dead right in front of us was someone's mother, twisted, obviously deceased,” he said.
"One man, deceased, had tire tracks across his back and when someone turned him over he had tire tracks across his stomach and was clearly crushed.”
"A little girl that we had seen dancing as we were walking up the street was as flat as a pillow,” he continued.
"It just kept going. Every eye shot -- body, body, body, body. It was unbelievable."

just that the suspect is a ‘truck’.
cars and trucks have committing a lot of violence lately.
Must have been on Auto Drive.
It is AI killing people. I didn’t know AI was capable of shooting people too with an ISIS flag on the vehicle.

That’s part of the FBI, no
IIRC, they are within the structure of the FBI that provides assistance in the event of a crisis. So not fully FBI. Standards maybe different. They also train undercover agents.

That’s ridiculous to put in an article about this
Probably trying to spin this as an anti homo attack if they can

still haven’t seen anything on the suspect,
It takes time to scrub internet history.

I’ve never seen anything indicating that the BAU isn’t “full FBI”

The plate number is clearly visible.
Can’t believe no one on Twitter has traced it yet.
News agencies def have but are choosing not to release it yet clearly.

Based on pictures and reports, happened on Bourbon Street from Iberville and ended just short of Canal
My apologies, but this doesn’t make sense. Iberville is the first block off of Canal heading up Bourbon into the FQ.
Are you saying the truck turned from Iberville onto Bourbon, heading in the wrong direction (certainly possible) towards Canal, and only traveled less than one block?

I did point this out. If anyone from TD that lives in TX recognizes that particular writing, in some way on the truck, that's the first place to start looking to find where the guy is from.

Councilman just said FBI said there are accomplices and authorities are looking for them. He didn’t act alone.
That’s not great to say when there’s an event with 70,000+ in a few hours.
What if they’re planning something at the dome?

I imagine X and Tik Tok will be where to look for images of the terrorist. Police/FBI won’t release anything for a while. People there with their phones out will capture something they can post.

Think I saw someone say they saw a sticker that is a truck rental company. I doubt it’s a personal vehicle

That’s what I saw on a map and the video of the person walking near those dead bodies were all in a block. I’m sure a local watching the video can confirm based on the bars/restaurants there

that’s the Mac Haik logo on the top left of the tailgate. I live in Houston, i see it everyday.

No way someone bought a 60k truck to do this
