Just logistically of him being in Houston on the 30th and Bourbon getting cleaned every day I have to think the 31st.
It is surprising with all the law enforcement that one didn't pick off what sounds like a textbook IED. But with all the trash that can accumulate maybe it wasn't that noticeable.

The bollards wouldn't have stopped him. He went on the curb around the police care that was blocking the entire street
They should have permanent ones on the curb/sidewalks at every corner of bourbon then you could easily put up temporary barricades on the street for big events
Bourbon should be totally shut down to any traffic after 5 pm from canal down past Lafitte's

I bet there will be soon.
We are such a reactive society.

IMO, the plan was to run down as many people as possible, likely until he got to the construction, then shoot into the crowd, then set off the bombs as people ran away, further down Bourbon.
I think running people over was always part of the plan, due to the choice of vehicle and the flag being mounted on it.
According to those who knew him, the guy was fairly intelligent.
The only confusing thing to me is the timing, seems like peak chaos would've been achieved earlier in the night/morning.

I find it hard to believe that pipe bombs in coolers were set out in the French Quarter and no one said anything. It doesn't make any sense.

Do we know WHEN the bombs were planted? Was it on NYE or before?
I think they said in the press conference that he placed them after midnight on new years.

The reason they weren’t up is because they were proactively installing an updated system.
A few of y’all are really on one with this crusade against bollards.

For further reference the house that was burned is the marker.
Blaze Gentleman's Club is the sight of the crash
Dome is top left about where the "N" in New Orelans is
You could walk from the Mandeville House to the Dome in 30 minutes or so.

I'm a pretty observant person and wouldn't think anything of a random cooler on Bourbon at 2 in the morning. And I don't even drink.

They say they have surveillance footage of Jabbar setting out the IED coolers. Have they said what time he did that? Did he go out there on foot like in the afternoon....or just before he got in the truck? I haven't seen anything that answers that. (If it has been posted on here, I apologize as I haven't read every page.)

At Soldier Field (Chicago) there's a little cove for ADA dropoffs and they have one of those by the openings. Until yesterday, I thought it was overkill since they also have ballards all around where it's at street level.
I don't know how the device would've changed anything unless they had ballards slightly offset from it. I think it making someone take a few extra steps is a good tradeoff for a more secure area. 90% of my adult life has happened in post-9/11 America. I'm to the point where this doesn't phase me anymore. I have a much higher chance of dying in a car accident than dying in a terrorist attack. I'm going to go whenever God decides it's time. No need to waste a minute of my time worrying about terrorists.

But you would think the city would've have started early enough to have them done before Sugar bowl/NYE
But thats just the way NOLA is run

So FBI says no one else involved. Who set his Airbnb on fire?

They’ve already said there was only 2 IEDs the multiple IEDs were misinformation.
