So there’s that.

I’m guessing he doesn’t want the virus to stay a little bit longer.

Zevon & Browne were buddies (mutual fans too) before either hit it big.

Zevon’s first musical efforts were not well-received. He left and went to Spain (Franco off-the-grid Spain) and was playing in a little dive beach town for drinks and a room/board for like a year+.

Browne hit with “Doctor My Eyes” and used that leverage to make his publisher promise to support Zevon. It took a while for the suits to find the crazy Mormon-Jew in Spain.

Zevon thought it was a practical joke when they caught up with him.

IIRC JB produced the best WZ album, the self titled one from '76

Weird I was just thinking his newish LGTBQIIAPLMNOZ virtue-signal song Human Touch could be a good Covid theme.

quote:

Everybody gets lonely
Feel like it's all too much
Reaching out for some connections
Or maybe just their own reflection
Not everybody finds it
Not like the two of us
Sometimes all anybody needs
Is a human touch

You are correct sir! 1976’s “Warren Zevon” was indeed produced by Browne

It is (imo) a wonderful work. Side Two more especially.

No one on this planet could have maintained a consistent friendship with the madman Zevon from the 70’s through his death in 2004 but Browne did as best he could.

Carmelita”? Goddam solid Genius work right there.
