Superdome, Tad Gormley, City Park, Lake Pontchartrain, Bayou St. John, UNO arena. Build new facilities in New Orleans East. Baton Rouge and Lafayette can help.

They tried hosting the Olympics at New Orleans’ big sister Atlanta and a bomb went off. Imagine if New Orleans got one.

NO had the World’s Fair when I was a kid. I was made to think this was an event on par with the Olympics. Does it still exist????

I used to travel to Salt Lake City a lot. If they can host the olympics a city the size of New Orleans could.

You can’t compare host sites for the Winter Olympics to host sites for the Summer Olympics. The magnitude difference, infrastructure requirements, etc of the games are off the charts. Big cities need to host the Summer Olympics. Lake Placid, a town of 2,500 people, hosted the Winter Olympics…. Twice.

I wish the US would never host another, but cities keep entering to get ripped off by the dirty Europeans running this scam organization. You never come out for the better by hosting this shite.

LA is hosting in 2028 - what will all those Indonesians think of the homeless people and the smell of weed on the streets.

Jeff Foxworthy with Alan Jackson - Redneck Games (Video)

The Redneck Games were held in East Dublin, Georgia, annually from 1996 until 2012. The games were started by Mac Davis, a local person who was the general manager of radio station WQZY-FM "Y96".[1] Some American media[who?] reacted to the news that Atlanta had won the bid to host the 1996 Olympic Games by saying the event would be organized by a group of rednecks. The games were created to help children's needs. Around 5,000 people turned out for the first Redneck Summer Games – over twice the population of East Dublin.[citation needed] Events include Mud Pit Belly Flop, Bobbin' for Pig's Feet, Redneck Horseshoes, Hubcap Hurl and the Armpit Serenade.

Probably shouldn’t give an already broke city an event that will plunge them even further in debt.

They have had several half Ironman and full Ironman triathlon events in the city. Seemed to have worked out just fine

Depends on how a city is run… Beijing was China’s coming out party… L.A. and Atlanta too.

Can you imagine the level of grifting going on for something like that in New Orleans? It’d be borderline insanity. You might have outright war between government factions for their skim. Local sheriffs would start listing “Olympics” as an asset as part of their reportable grifting income. LaToya would probably end up in jail somehow finally for public corruption.
