This is exactly why we need to put her dad’s statements in perspective. If he works at an ICU in NYC, he is at ground zero in one of the heaviest hit places in the country. No doubt the worst cases from a large area are being sent to his ICU. That doesn’t mean it’s happening everywhere. Whenever you’ve driven by a hospital in your life, there were people dying in the ICU there but you didn’t even blink.
What is HER experience with the virus and does it agree with what her dad sees? Probably not.

Yes, but sadly, by forcing everyone to stay home and allowing the sickest to be the ones to travel to the hospital, the worst strains are spreading more so than the milder strains, which is what all these doctors and nurses are getting exposed to.
The milder strains are the ones we want going about the population.

Well, in the critical cases, she is right, thats exactly how it works.
HOWEVER, for the most part, to become a critical case it takes an unhealthy or compromised person to get there.
People like this women, ALWAYS, conveniently leave that detail out.

Funny how Houston hospitals aren’t even remotely overwhelmed. 4th largest city and international business location as well.

You're right. I should have said two-thirds or 60%. If you don't understand by now that the majority of people who get infected don't even know they have it, you are not paying attention.

I have had it and have have seen 9 coworkers with it. No hospitalizations only a couple required oxygen and no long term effects.
I personal had a zpac, a bunch of Tylenol and Gatorade.
It’s a pretty nasty flu.

I have no doubt at all that people in the er have seen some jacked up stuff in there. That's one of the reasons why i dont work in the er. That is to be expected working in that area.
This thing is something to take seriously. It is not the flue, that being said, more than 99% of people recover perfectly fine. The worry was that 1% being able to overload the hospitals. Thank goodness that wasnt the case. Lets get back to the original plan of social distancing and practicing good hygene before the mass shutdown.
