Its 2016 and we still have 12+ hour flights

I get most of you poors don't fly international, but for those of us who do it often, know the struggle. 10 years ago I read that by the 2010's international flights would be cut down to 4-5 hours, but nothing has changed. The planes and the food are nicer but still a damn days long travel. tl;dr I just want to fly more t but with less time in the air

Since 2010 I've been hearing about this 1 hour transatlantic flight and have yet to see any airliner offer it.

I'm making a 14+ hr flight from Houston to Auckland 6 weeks from today. Gonna take Xanax and sleep the whole way.

It is more fuel efficient (cheaper) to fly slower. When passengers stop purchasing on ptice alone, flights will shorten.

I've made that flight but from dallas>LA>Auckland, flew with virgin/air new zealand which is awesome. Delta has the worst service off all and their planes are outdated.
