So you’re worried that your friend can’t get life saving medication because it is being used to potentially save the lives of others?

I wasn't the original person you responded to, so it's not my friend. You also didn't answer the question.

They already had the cure. Just needed to capitalize on it.

Yeah because it wasn’t quite the gotcha you think it is and I don’t have a daughter.

Would you like to explain why you seem pissed that this drug is starting to see widespread implementation?

I note that Italy has just authorized the wide distribution of hydroxychloroquine on medical prescription from the start of the infection and that other countries are preparing to do the same. What are we waiting for? To have more dead?”

I like how the OT wants to blindly follow Italy's lead on this when they have only proven themselves as the world's worst during Covid-19. 12,500 and counting.

The Rant showed more concern over Coach O's record at Ole Miss than the OT has for a medical system that has failed its citizens and has the blood of over 12,000 on its hands.

Well, since it’s to treat COVID, I think there should be evidence that you have COVID.

If there is rapid community spread like in New Orleans.. and the drug is safe.. and the alternative in waiting is (esp those who are high risk) hospitalization

I think you can safely assume a high fever for 3-5 days with a dry cough AND a negative flu test would warrant hydroxychloroquine out of caution

If we can get tests that produce a result in 15 minutes then by all means go for it. I'm just only seeing those tests used in places like Texas. I'll be happy if I'm wrong

There is a noticeable demographic that seems to want to mock or deride the use of the medicine.

There’s also a demographic that wants it to work.

Nobody wants false hope. That’s almost as poisonous as the doom and gloom crowd but people on the left keep acting like the whole idea is voodoo medicine when there are more than a couple of studies that show promising results.

Discovering the vaccine for measles and smallpox didn’t go through the FDA.

Can I just use this fish tank cleaner in my pantry? It has a lot of letters that look about the same.

We’re actually way ahead of Italy on this.

I thought those tests were now becoming readily available. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Jesus frick, you Trumpkins are so delusional that you actually believe this

We are using it in patients on their death beds for the most part

About 4 days ago I asked a NOLA doctor about this, and she told me it has zero effect on those in critical shape, but it has a discernible positive effect on those who are healthier. I didn’t know enough to drill down, but this fits what the OP quoted.

Nothing. We're treating patients with it by the tens of thousands right now.

Why do people think we aren't?

That's gotta be it. There are physicians and scientists that are willing to let people die just so that they can stick it to Trump. It's weird how everything that happens these days comes back to how it affects Trump. His fans are even starting to think like him.

Honor code was just given 400,000 doses of the medication. That's enough to treat everyone that has the disease in the state. You have to stop it before 10 days. It takes 7 to 10 days to get results back in most of the state. By then, many folks are too sick.

the poster who said that is known for overreacting to everything. Sure there's many many people out there who think it won't work, or who think it shoukd be vetted more first. For whaterver reasons.
There are many many people in america who are actively hoping and praying right now that this drug is ineffective,
Now to say "There are many many people in america who are actively hoping and praying right now that this drug is ineffective" is bullshite.
