Is their average age of the deceased still 81?

Some differences between the US and Italy.

Healthcare:
US has 3x the critical care beds per capita.

Population density:
Italy has 5x

Mass transit uasge:
No good stats, but at bare minimum Italy has 5x usage

Cultural:
Fewer nursing homes. Meaning elderly relatives live and intermingle with more younger relatives.
More touchy, feely. Even mild acquaintances greet each other with hugs and kisses on the cheeks (RIP South Louisiana?)

Elderly population:
US population is 15% over 65. Italy is 23% over 65

Without Cv19, 860 per 100,000 per day in USA per cdc. That's just the normal number of deaths per day for any reason.

LINK

Let's apply those numbers to Italy.

60,000,000 div by 100,000 = 600,000.

860 deaths per hundred thousand = 5160 deaths per day in Italy.

Your math is a little off.

Italy's death rate is about 10.5 per 1,000 per year. With a population of 60 million, that is 630,000 deaths per year, or 1,726 per day.

I like how he took one of the most unhealthy populations in the world as a baseline.

You really think almost 1% of the population dies PER DAY in the USA?

Imagine posting all that shite and not having enough common sense to realize how full of shite your entire post is.

Well Italy's death rate is higher than ours. Though not because they aren't healthier, they're just older.

860 deaths/day x 365 days/yr = 313,900 deaths per 100,000 people.

It's 860 deaths/YEAR, which comes to 2.35 deaths/day per 100,000. If Italy's number is the same, thats about 1400 deaths/day from ALL causes.

While the total number of deaths in Italy weren't reported, it's safe to say that 400 deaths/day from a new disease is pretty staggering.

I don’t think you can use typical annual stats and apply them to this situation. As someone posted there are too many variables. Bottom line is Italy has been under lockdown for over 3+ weeks and this spike still happened (and or is still happening).

10% death rate. Yikes

Useless math unless you have a true number of the total infected.

Last I heard Italy was not testing 100% of the population.

10% of "known" infected perhaps...

Literally cheering?

Some people seem to be happy for the deaths so they can reassure their fears.
