re: It is worth paying 50 for a good haircut rather than a 15 dollar buzz job.

What you should be focusing on is finding the right person to cut your hair and not the price. The right barber/ stylist will listen to you when you tell them how you want your hair cut and will make recommendations based on your hair, and then cut your hair… you can hide a lot of things, but you can’t hide a shitty haircut.

I go to whichever chain has the shortest wait at the time.

Instead of some chain place an actual salon (my daughter’s recommended place). It is clean and very nice inside. There are not tons of people.
Wait until you find a good barber who does house calls.

I can't imagine paying $50.00 for a haircut.

If you’re particular about your haircut like me, it’s nearly impossible to get a consistent cut at a chain type of place. I get a bald fade and those places seem to always frick it up. I either go to Mercer Supply on Nicholson or Draft Picks on Lee. It’s $60 with a tip for a cut, beard trim/line up but it’s always cut to my liking. I also get frequent compliments.

Yes. Bad haircuts are unacceptable.

I'm in the Covington area. Anyone know any easy on the eyes ladies that cut hair here? When I lived in Baton Rouge they were everywhere. Pretty scarce here. I generally get a barber style cut but every once in awhile I like to treat myself. So having a really attractive stylist is my idea of a treat

That's why your haircut costs 150% than the average place.

Yes, nothing like walking around with a cheap haircut

I remember people posting about everyone going to some gay barber. Is that still a thing?

Well if you are balding I would say go with the buzz cut.
If you have a full head of hair and go with the buzzcut you may as well just fully give up and grow a goatee.

$50 in a SE Asia barbershop used to buy a hell of an afternoon.

When I had a beard, I trimmed it myself. Now, I trim my mustache and sideburns, and my haircut is 25 bucks.

Why should I drive somewhere to get a haircut I can get right here?
Posted on 3/28/24 at 2:57 pm to Tvilletiger
I spend about $20 for mine and she does a great job.
