no one wants to go into a ground war with insurgent-style fighters. It turns ugly for everyone very quickly.
Why risk your soldiers when you can still bomb the frick out of them?

They aren’t calling up 360,000 troops for nothing. They expect a multi-front war once they enter Gaza. They are preparing for that before they enter Gaza.

Looks like they’re still establishing command and control and securing the border areas.

Anyone actually think Israel is going to go in and start a ground war?
Yes. But Hamas started it. Israel is going to finish it.

Are they just waiting for massive mobilization before doing so?
Yes. And bombing Gaza infrastructure and C&C targets, troop concentrations etc.

I'm failing to see it happen.
It will absolutely happen. No hurry. But Israel will invade and occupy a significant portion of Gaza.

There's no rush. The Gaza Strip isn't going anywhere. Ground operations, particularly in Gaza City, are no joke because of the density.
No reason to run in there until you've softened things up a bit and have your own shite in order.
Additionally, they have to take the Hez threat (invasion from the north if the IDF enters Gaza) seriously. North Command is built for it, but they want all their ducks in a row before kicking anything off.

This. 100%. With Israel's ability to shut down Gaza's access to the Med and Egypt wanting to keep them the frick out of their country (see the Egypt-Gaza border fence) AND the fact that Gaza is dependent Israel for electricity and water services, all Israel has to do is seal them off for a week or three to soften them up before going in and throwing their weight around.
Time is on Israel's side.

Yes and no. I believe Israel has to strike quickly or risk losing some global support. There will be horrible scenes and reports that come out of Gaza. If they are too slow, the images of Hamas' terrorist acts will wear of on some people and the media will be quick to show non-stop coverage of Palestinian casualties. Many members of media and our own leadership have already shown that they are willing to overlook Hamas' targeted attacks on civilians. They won't do the same for Israel whether civilians are targeted or collateral.

Al-Jazeera is a pretty excellent news source for international news....except anything dealing with Israel/Palestine. With this subject, their objectivity is non-existent. Makes sense since both Al-Jazeera and Hamas are both financed by Qatar.

Air strikes will kill a lot of ordinary people, but the militants will ride out the strikes in the bunkers they’ve built. Their casualties will be low. Israel will ultimately have to go in with infantry to clear the militants out.
Hamas and Hezbollah will want Israel to invade too. For Hamas, it negates much of the IDFs advantage in firepower, and it forces them to do something difficult. Fight at close quarters in a very built up city. This is not something the IDF is going to be good at. For Hezbollah, it’s the casus belli they need.
I don’t think this ends well for Israel, but they also don’t have a choice. They have to invade Gaza.

I think Israel is done giving a frick what the “international community” thinks about the biker gang living down the street from them.
They went full Bronx Tale and told Gazans to leave, which they didn’t. Now they told them “Now youse CAN’T leave.” Cue arse whipping.

Officially, deal is on hold.
Unofficially, I’m sure KSA is giving Israel ideas of places to hit that would frick Iran and will resume talks when this blows over.

It's a lot more complicated than that. I don't think Egypt allows them in, which means they don't have a choice. They are stuck there.
Also, this is a funny story from 2008

Just heard a report on FNC that in a kibbutz the IDF found the bodies of 40 children that had been executed……

I doubt Egypt lets them in. Egypt is an apartheid state committing genocide through its controlled border with Gaza.

Egypt is run and controlled by the Coptics who have enough of the Sunni Muslim brotherhood crap. Without the Coptic’s in charge the place would look like Libya.
Egypt also remembers the Palestinian crew massacred hundreds of their soldiers so no love for these scumbags at all.

Wait. I thought they were financed by Iran.
This is what’s so hard about these threads. Looking for info and you have to avoid all the Middle East foreign affairs experts
