yes I do think that the state department effort in protecting or evacuating or recovering US citizens in a foreign country would be more effective if that effort was directed by a leader call me crazy but I think that’s pretty self evident
Ummm tell me you have never been involved in a NEO without telling me you have never been involved in a NEO. Especially in a high value billet like Israel or London where the Ambassador is usually a political donor. In fact I bet not having an Ambassador is making them a lot more efficient now. And once the MEU gets there it needs to turn over ro the professionals or we will have another Blinken situation like Kabul.

yes, it would be nice if someone like an ambassador could help funnel American citizens to the coast (Acre for example) where the MEF would be waiting to provide security and a seaborne evacuation.
Wow we sourced a MEF….how will that fit on one ARG?…..
But basically agree with the rest of your post.

Maybe. But elections have consequences. Maybe they shouldn’t have voted in a Hamas majority.
I'm confused by your link, it shows that election being cancelled in 2021 and one not having happened since? I'd love a link with data showing the Palestinians voting for a Hamas majority bc my idiot sister is blabbering about how this has nothing to do with the Palestinian people and while to an extent they aren't directly responsible if they have repeatedly elected Hamas to a majority idk how they aren't at least somewhat rresponsible

Israel is about to prison shower room arse rape the Gaza Strip
And they should. "Do not leave one stone on top of another." No one there is innocent. They voted for that government. They lived under it for decades. "Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind."
Israel should clear it block-by-block from one end to the other. If women and children come out with their hands up, put them in camps behind barbed wire and let the Saudis and Iranians feed them. But kill the rest. All of them.

Hasn't that kind of been Islam's MO since the beginning?

They haven’t had national elections since 2006. They had some local elections but in West Bank only. They keep coming to an agreement for new elections but then cancelling them.
Abbas was elected President back in 2005 when Hamas boycotted election to a 4 year term that is still going on in 2023.
In 2006 Hamas got a plurality of the votes but majority of the seats. They formed a govt and there was a hamas prime minister. After hamas took over gaza from the official PA govt due to PA forces in gaza becoming nothing and also removed any remaining opposition (the minority in gaza) the hamas Prime Minister was removed by Abbas while not allowing him to continue until replacement voted in which supposedly went against the laws.
Hamas throws out the PA govt in gaza after starting to run that govt, and then the other party throws out hamas from running the PA govt that was at that point just over the West Bank.
It’s a joke, and it’s confusing.
But hamas did win in 2006, and it was a shock to the world. Apparently it was also such a shock to palestinians that they can’t agree on having another election. Palestinians hate each other as much as the world hates them.

Israel just bombed the absolute shite out of something in Gaza. I've had the live stream on as background noise for a few hours and that was by far the biggest explosion yet.

Anyone actually think Israel is going to go in and start a ground war? Are they just waiting for massive mobilization before doing so? I'm failing to see it happen.
