nope, you know good and well that the call for the ceasefire is strictly for humanitarian reasons to get aid in. its not to give Hamas a pass or to give up on eliminating them.
Yet it is giving them a pass. They set up ammo dumps, command centers, tunnel entrances, and rocket sites in civilian areas.. in and around hospitals, apartment buildings, whatever (an actual war crime). Then they cry foul and use the fact that civilians are being killed to build opposition against Israel.
Your reaction is exactly what they are aiming for. They don’t need you to see them as the good guys, as long as you see Israel as the bad guys.
And the victims - the civilians getting killed in the process - elected them and overwhelmingly support them. They support the regime that uses their hospitals, schools, and apartments as cover. If someone volunteers to be a human shield, at what point do they stop being civilians?
Maybe we should take a play from Hamas’ book and start building elementary schools on the decks of aircraft carriers so that they, too, can be off-limits for our enemies. Then whenever someone strikes one of our carriers anyway, we’ll have our allies lobby for a ceasefire so that we can regroup. We won’t, though, because that would be absurd and everyone knows it.. except when it comes to Hamas for some reason.

What would Curtis LeMay do?
Pound their arse into the stone age, irrespective of civilian casualties, until Hamas cries for mercy-that's what. That approach worked great with the Axis powers. Ultimately turned those frickers into reliable allies. Dresden, Hiroshima... all forgotten bygones.
Air superiority with a high sense of righteous indignation can be a terrible thing for an enemy.
It's tragic for the innocent Palestinians (to the extent such a thing exists), but it's called total war. And let's not forget who started said war.

My question is, what’s the best possible (realistic) endgame for Israel for the immediate future?
Fully control and govern Gaza and the Palestinians there?
Remove every single citizen from Gaza and rebuild eventually as Israel only? What about the West Bank?
No clue what Israel is capable of doing here, but they should definitely do it 100% right now, and not give an inch or wait.
I just don’t know what’s possible or realistic.

quote:I don't see any of these "pro-palestinian" figures, within or without our government, calling for Hamas to surrender to protect Palestinian "civilians".
I don’t see anybody ‘rooting’ for Hamas.
That in of itself is very telling and belies their true belief system.
quotes indicate extreme cynicism

Well, if you’re going to try to use it, it is a very hard phrase to translate and transcribe into written English. But that’s not it. Di di mau or didi mau. Respect the effort though.

You're not Palestinian? You die. It was just indiscriminate killing. Gaza ought to get it back in spades.
They were culling out some Arabs at the music festival to execute.
How many B-52 runs would it take to make all of North Gaza into rip-rap ?
I think they are going to flatten everything around that big hospital then play “El Dequello “. For the folks still in and under it.

Then why won’t your precious members of the Squad publicly denouncing Hamas? Why are you degenerate college students chanting “from the river to the sea”, a Hamas chant calling for the extermination of Israel. Why can’t you admit that watched the Palestinian crowds cheering the October 7th is in fact support of Hamas?

Just here to say frick Hummis.

Also, it seems that your brain is incapable of processing the fact that Hamas and the Palestinian people are not the same thing. Can’t help with that mate.
What I find interesting, is that Gaza trots people out to decry the bombing. Little children pleading to send good instead of bombs, Doctors at hospitals begging to stop bombing…yet no one inside Gaza has called for Hamas to release the hostages, no one inside Gaza has called for Hamas to give up, no one in Gaza is pointing out where rockets are or where tunnels are.

It's all Greek to me.

Hamas on Wednesday accused the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees of "colluding" with Israel in the "forced displacement" of residents of Gaza. "UNRWA and its officials bear responsibility for this humanitarian catastrophe, in particular the residents of the Gaza (City) area and north of it" who are following instructions to flee, said Salama Maruf, head of the media bureau of Gaza rulers Hamas.
Hamas wants the civilians to be in the line of fire.

There are at least three hospitals currently being used my Hamas terrorists. They're going to eventually have to take them all out, at least to some extent.

Hamas would kill them if they did.

There’s 2 million people there. They outnumber Hamas.

Hamas has the guns and has no problem killing their own though.

... and roughly half of the population is under 18. Even backing out the teenagers, that's a shitload of kids 12 and under. I have no idea what the geriatric segment of the population makes up. But I'm guessing it's not as easy as just "throwing them out". Hamas hasn't allowed an election in over 15 years. Why do you suppose that is?

Generally speaking, when you pack people into a small urban area with few jobs and not much food, it causes a population decline. I guess they have nothing to do there but plot terrorist attacks and screw.

Most Palestinians in Gaza view Hamas favorably and around 50% support armed action against Israel. Those statistics were cited earlier in the thread.

Polls say most of those 2 million people support Hamas and their terrorist goals.
