A major turning point was the 1967 Six-Day War, which culminated in Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza

Those damn Israelis just woke up one day and decided to take that land for themselves! It's not like they were attacked by a coalition of other countries or anything like that!!

My friend's 20-year-old niece was murdered today in Jerusalem by a 16-year-old who stabbed her to death while she was protecting the border. She was from Atlanta.

The killer had his head removed by a .556 immediately after. RIP Rose.

That's horrible. Had she gone back after the 7th or was she already there?

Honestly good for Joe in this case. I don't not why the democrats seem hell bent on supporting Hamas but at least he's not bending over completely ( only partially)

Should be pretty obvious that a ceasefire isn't an option in this case

I read about that last night. Very sad. Graduated Dunwoody High School in 2021.
Here is the 11alive article. Speaks of the Governor giving condolences.

Exclimation points not withstanding, are you aware that Israel launched a surprise attack during the Six Day War against the Arab coalition?

Who, IIRC, had been massing along the Israeli border. Israel decided they weren't bluffing and sent in preemptive air strikes to cripple their air forces.

The message suggests a growing loss of confidence among U.S. diplomats in President Joe Biden’s approach to the Middle East crisis. It reflects the sentiments of many U.S. diplomats, especially at mid-level and lower ranks, according to conversations with several department staffers as well as other reports.

Is it the job of these “mid-level and lower ranks” folks to set the policy or to follow the policy set by their superiors?

Virtually every agency in DC backstabbed Trump like this, so it’s a little refreshing to see it happen to Biden also.

Are you aware that they did that solely because the coalition was amassing their military on the border and were about to attack Isreal?

They did it as a preemptive strike and won a war in 6 days

The 1978 war took a month for Isreal to get to the outskirts of Damascus and Cairo. Kissenger wouldn't allow them to do the early strike in that one so they waited for the attack.

If isreal wanted to they would be in control over the Sinai, Suez canal and half of Syria. They made an agreement post 1978 war to go to their current boundaries. So no Palestine doesn't really have much claim to the land

It's also why the border countries will never join the war ( Hezbollah isn't Lebanon) they've tried a significantly weaker isreal on multiple occasions. It's better for them to try to be peaceful with the Israelis. The Palestinians seem to frick up every country they're allowed into it's why no one really likes them around there

I am

I am also sure that you are aware there was way more context to that situation than Israel just waking up one day and being the aggressor

The fact that anyone is trying to debate Israel as being in the wrong here much less the amount of people doing it is just amazing to me. It feels like people arguing just for the sake of arguing but they somehow legitimately believe their completely idiotic point.

Let’s say the scumbag that murdered Rose lost his entire head.

This was the third time she was a target. She barely escaped from her home on Oct 7th from Sa’ad. They moved her to Jersusalem immediately after and she was avoided an ambush at the last second. Unfortunately the third attempt was successful.

Its those who always see the oppressed vs oppressor.

Hamas is the oppressor of the Palestinian people. They have it backward.
