Can we easily tell the difference between lefties and the homeless?

Both tend to rant nonsensically and have no interest in hygiene.

1. How many soldiers do we still have over there?

Anyone who actually knows the answer to that question cannot answer it. Not being a smart arse but putting troop strength on a forum is highly frowned upon.

Was this already in the cards, or is this a new addition? I haven't kept up with all the specific troop movements.

The US is sending a rapid response force made up of about 2,000 US marines and sailors to the coast of Israel.

The force is traveling on the USS Bataan, an amphibious assault ship operating near the Red Sea. It is expected to arrive off Israel’s coast in 5 days.

Both imo. We were told that wasn’t the purpose, but we all knew it was when they left Qatar (I think).

Should be 26th MEU(SOC) that had been in Kuwait. If not a jarhead, it is built around a battalion landing team (not sure if that phrase is still in use) with assorted artillery, engineer, and air wing assets to form the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable).

Iraq won't do anything - again, too weak and too vulnerable. And they don't have the logistics train to do anything from there, anyway.

Iraq also has a lot of militants who hate Iran.

Thank you for contributing to this thread without having even a basic concept of what's going on.

Or a basic concept of shipping logistics, much less military logistics.

I wouldn't expect ground operations to begin until Biden leaves the region.

Hopefully this is just posturing and will be enough to deter additional belligerents.

Jerusalem post article about the invasion delay. I agree with most of this and hope Israel heeds caution.

quote:

There is also a deepening recognition in the IDF and at the political level, that the IDF has not done anything like this in decades, and that rushing in unprepared, simply to more quickly satisfy the wider population's thirst for retribution, could be a large mistake.

quote:

In this perspective, the 2006 Second Lebanon War ground invasion was a complete mess, with the airpower being the successful part, with both the 2008-9 and 2014 invasions of Gaza being more symbolic. In other words, with all of the many "rounds" of conflict, the IDF should not be overconfident about its talent at conducting large land invasion operations.

That's basically hoping for Iran to show some self restraint. If anything you're more likely to see missile attacks from the WB begging to draw the US into it.

What type ship is that? It looked like a well deck on an amphibious assault ship at first, but then like a gigantic LCAC. Not familiar to me. Does the Navy have enormous catamarans?

NBC claims Biden is on his way to visit Israel.

This can’t possibly end well.
