that was because of the antisemite poster Burt Reynolds. he found out the artist bansky owns a hotel on the west bank and does "really cool" art on the wall. so he is pro hammas and was blaming israel for the attacks.

Cool. So you agree that Gaza is a terrorist state akin to the ISIS caliphates and that Israel is within its moral right to do whatever it needs to do to secure the everlasting security of its citizens from it?

You're over simplifying it. Suffice to say that Israel is justified in going after Hamas wherever they're found in Gaza by whatever means necessary.

Just because they are both on the "left" doesn't make them in any way, shape, or form, the same.

Not the same but related. And related enough to be suspect in many instances.
BUT fact is, so far everyone else Pali in the region seems to be showing restraint more or less.
So I guess that’s something.

Destroying the current Hamas and leveling Gaza wont make anything better. Its a bad strategy.

To fix the issues they need to remove the current Iran regime. Israel doesn't have the stomach for that.

You've referred to this plenty of times. What is your experience there? Military? Work? Bw/Xe/A?

I think it's pretty obvious I wasn't there on vacation. The only specific answer I'm going to give to your question is no, definitely not "BW/Xe/A"...

I wouldn't mention it at all except to emphasize that I'm not talking out of my arse. It's the internet and there are no points to be scored - at least none that effect my life in any way. I don't need validation. I'm just Burt Orangello on here.

I tweaked an old injury and have been forced into a little downtime, shite kicked off over there and I know a little something about it, so I thought I'd offer some perspective and counter some of the nonsense being thrown around the internet.

I like to learn new things from knowledgable people, but I realize not everyone else feels the same way. So with regard to my comments/input, take it or leave it. Either way is fine with me.

I happen to believe everything you say and think you are right

But saying that, at this point, it’s War. And Hamas was the elected power. Its people will suffer those consequences. I fully understand as an American if Biden and his regime started war with a country I would face the consequences regardless of if i voted for him

Maybe that makes me an a-hole, so be it. We didn’t worry about all the Germans that didn’t support the Nazis, which there were plenty.

Did the Hamas terrorists ask if the people they drug out of their houses if the supported the Netanyahu government before killing and kidnapping them?

I'm not a believer in judging people collectively. Nor 2-wrongs making a right. But at some point--when total inhumanity is on display, you have to use their rules.

SOME Palestinian kids are taught to hate Jews, Israelis, Americans, etc. It's much more prevalent in Gaza because Hamas is obviously a lot more hard-line, but "Gaza/Hamas" does NOT equal all Palestinians.

Is anyone arguing any different? Obviously Hamas is the extremes but that also doesn’t necessarily mean almost everyone there is good.

Hell there are more Palestinians living outside of the area then inside now, it makes you wonder why anyone would even want to be a hardline Palestinian then just fricking emigrate to be something else. But life just can’t always be that simple for everyone.

I don’t know the answer, but the fact is a large enough percentage of the people have that attitude that Egypt doesn’t want them either and neither does anyone else and this whole shitty situation will likely continue for a long long time.

Well there sure are a lot of non Gaza/Hamas Palestinians cheering them on.

Sure there are. And there are many who aren't. Which again, emphasizes my point that broad generalizations are foolish.

Lots of people have Black Lives Matter stickers on their cars, but aren't out looting and burning.

I think people who loot and burn should be shot on sight. I don't advocate for shooting Karen-with-the-BLM sticker on sight.

I also don't equate BLM with ALL black people. Or the radical progressives with ALL liberal leaning people.

This has been true since the dawn of civilization. As much as our current population wants to be unique and beat to the tune of their own drum like they are the center of the universe you are bound to prosper or suffer for the decisions of your leaders.

Burt, honestly I think you are a very bright person. But if we let you lead in America in 1941 the world would be United under the Nazi flag currently.

For every “great evil country” in history, a shite load if not the majority of the actual people of that country weren’t actually bad. They were just foot soldiers for the evil regime. That’s kinda how it goes.

I have. Best model I ever made and it still wasn't that good. Did have a generic camo paint and hung proudly from my bedroom ceiling with fishing line.

So you sink to their level of inhumanity and pure evil in an act of unbridled revenge? For what? A little catharsis and eternity in hell? Do you.

Can confirm. Spent almost a month in northern Egypt and our “reward” was three nights in shite arse Sharm El-Sheikh where we couldn’t even go in the water because some ship was dumping dead livestock in the sea and driving the sharks crazy.

How would you have handled Germany in 1941? Remember, most Germans were great people and not nazis.

I gotcha. Im not very knowledgeable of the situation over there and kinda read stuff on here and look at the twitter videos posted. Basically avoid all the big news networks. One of my best friends is over there right now(about 40-50 miles NE from Gaza) and I talked to him for about an hour today. I think he would align with most of the stuff youre saying throughout the thread. He told me he was about a three on the 1-10 scale of being nervous about the conflict at hand
