As far as him / them not being "Christian", this is an interesting position considering there are dozens of versions of "Christian" which all have differing teachings. Are all of these heresy in your opinion?

You fail to understand the big picture.

I’m going to list three large branches of Christianity:
Eastern Orthodox
Roman Catholic
Protestant

Now I’m going to list some Protestant denominations that cover the vast majority of Protestantism:
Lutheran
Reformed/Presbyterian
Baptist
Methodist
Anglican/Episcopalian
Church of Christ
Assemblies of God

ALL of these are Christian or can be considered Christian because they, in good faith, can recite the Appstles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.

Those combine to define Christianity, and at the top of the list, the most agreed upon doctrine is that God is the creator of all and that that same God is THREE in ONE.

Most Pentecostals do not believe that, therefore they are, by the broadest definition, NOT a Christian Church.

There, again, might be regenerate believers (saved people) within the that church, God help them, but they do not ascribe to the proper definition of Christianity.

I wouldn’t expect any different. You’re being consistent with your natural human state.

However, Christianity is a reasonable faith. Though nothing I say here would convince you by itself.

Pentecostals also believe if you don’t speak in tongues you aren’t truly saved.

They don’t acknowledge baptism from say Baptist’s church as truly being saved.
Cultish weird bunch of people in my experience.

What can the Holy Spirit do that God and Jesus can't?

conversion John 3:8
Teaching (as Jesus said to the disciples about leaving earth and giving his Spirit as a helper).

Restraining evil

A very good friend of mine grew up in that church. He no longer goes there and has his own opinions of the Spells. I attended several services there as a young kid. Very passionate people - and that's coming from someone raised southern baptist.

I'm not going to get into the doctrine argument here. I believe in the trinity. I am not the most read christian - I am working on that and continue to work on that. If they wanted to call themselves christian, and they most certainly do, I wouldn't be too upset about it. As some have suggested that is between them and God TBD.

My take: Spell is doing this for all the wrong reasons. I am assuming I know why he is doing it and I certainly could be wrong but it seems like a pure attention grab. Look at me, look at me. And I'm sure there is some monetary gain in there. However, I am fairly certain that the state is acting in a manner in contravention of the 1st amendment and the state constitution. Logically I also have a huge problem with the actions of the state but that is an entirely different discussion. Funny enough if the media doesn't take off with this thing and run with it and the City of Central and/or the DA do not charge him most of us forget who Tony Spell is in 5 months. He is a creation of sensationalist media and authoritarian overreach.

It cracks me up when one group or Christians calls another “cultish”, “crazy”, or anything like that

Technically, it's now become a death cult. When the spiritual leader intentionally leads his followers into harm which may kill them, and promises that the healing power will save them, he is leading a death cult.

As a Christian it matters to me. I don’t want that fool bearing the name of Christ. He has no right to it.

The concept of the Trinity wasn't developed until about 100-150 years after Christ's death and resurrection. I'm not sure it constitutes the pivot definition of Christianity.

Plus, the only true Christians are Catholics. Everyone knows that.

All Christians are catholic by their very nature.

Not all Christians are Roman Catholic, and not all Roman Catholics are regenerate believers in Christ.

No, if you are practicing Christianity outside of Roman Catholicism, then you truly aren't a Christian.
