Dallas set a record Thursday with a high of 108 only to break it yesterday at 109. Last year was a very mild summer so this is a stark contrast.

The heat and warm weather makes me want to get up and do things. Gets my motor running.

All the fricking cold does is make me want to sit in front of a fire and not move.

Yeah 109 is a little extreme.

We are having a few days of higher temps than average.. And people are wondering if it is the hottest summer in recent memory? I think people say this shite every year.

This is an article from last year about how it was one of the hottest days ever in New Orleans.

It’s been above 105 for over a week straight here. Over 108 since Thursday.

Hottest ever? No. Hot as absolute frick? Yes.

It’s always hot during the summer. It’s always in the upper 90’s and low 100’s in certain places during the summer. It’s always humid. Some years we have more rain so the number of hot days are less some years we less rain so number of hot days goes up.

This summer is no hotter than any other summer.

One thing I will say is that the cold winter that we had mixed in with the steady West wind we’ve had all summer has made for some really shitty saltwater fishing. That’s a fact Jack

Hoping the tuna fishing is good in October. Have a few trips out of Venice lined up

Snapper and Mangroves are really the only thing that has been consistent.

Well besides redfish. That’s always easy

2011 was worse. Also back around 2000 or 2001 we hit 100 degrees every month May-September

Coolest Summer in Georgia I can remember (and I'm old); not one day over 100 degrees so far. Plenty of nice thundershowers; often our Summers are hot and dry. Currently 75 degrees at 1:20 P.M. Normally on this date, July 21st, it would already be hot as hell by this time of day. It was 70 degrees when I walked the dog this morning.

Just kidding, heat exhaustion ain’t no joke. Shittiest part about it is once that feeling gets up on ya, ain’t much you can do to help it and there ain’t no shaking it.
It’s real

2011 was brutal. No rain and weeks of 100+ temps. At least we are getting some rain every once in a while.

Landmass hasn't been bad. We're getting storms just about every afternoon and those keep the temperature down.

I've lived in BR for over60 years.

Most of the time we didn't even know what heat index was. All this stuff is relatively new. It's been hot and humid in La. Forever.

May was above average, June below average, July has been up and down.

It's La. weather

it is humid as all get out. the last time I recall worse was in 2010ish it was 106 and so humid I am not kidding-- it felt like you couldn't breathe.

I agree with you I don't see how people that work in it do it...

Like I said in another thread. It's all relative. Acclimatization and no AC is a bitch. And I've lived in places where the average high is hotter than what Texas has been getting. Just not used to it anymore. And I had AC.
