People get their tax returns and quit like they hit the lottery. I'm the only one here for the burger grill and fry machine at McDonald's today

Blame the stupid extra 300 for unemployment from the government.

It is a common theme that low paying jobs attract low IQ people and low IQ people make poor decisions.

It's a continuous loop.

You don't get unemployment if you quit

At least you aren't supposed to

Most poor people are not poor because of some force external to them. They are poor because they are dysfunctional and make chronically bad decisions.

Society has been conditioned by government to believe that individuals level of success relies on others. The classic victim mentality. Reality is it is all based on personal responsibility and smart decisions. I know a family that didn't have indoor plumbing when the kids grew up, literally crapped on a tractor tire over a hole outside they were so poor. Kids still had access to public school, applied themselves, and are successful now. One is an engineer and one is in heavy equipment sales. on the other hand we probably all know a kid that grew up wealthy and had everything handed to them with all the opportunity in the world and is now a total dredge on society.

Yes it happens. Also now they just got all the stimulus money and probably still haven't been paying their rent for months if they are in an area where not evictions can happen(or the process to evict is bogged down).

It's a perfect storm of crap right now.

Most people who work for low pay don't give a shite.

Before I graduated college and got a job in my field, I worked a lot of awful jobs for half a decade. I still put in my 100%, but lifers just don't care. They'll hop from one shite job to another. Skilled tradesmen will put pride in their work though.

Do low earners still get a tax credit back for each kid.
I remember some of the single moms i worked with a long time ago treated tax return time like it was Christmas

Starting in June/July it's no longer going to be a tax credit. It's going to be a monthly payment.

When govt gives away more than you can get from working, we are doomed.

This. Both of my grandfathers were raised by single mothers after their deadbeat fathers exited the picture. One mother was a teacher and one mother was a cafeteria worker at a school. Both of my grandfathers worked hard, put themselves through school and became self-made men.

People today act like if you’re poor, you’re just screwed and have no chance whatsoever of becoming successful. I don’t buy it.

That's the child tax credit.

Which, I guess if you consider Gross AGI of $400k "low earners", that could apply...

I saw him all about a tax credit for children and thought that is what he meant.

This is the OT after all.

Is EIC the same thing he's talking about? I didn't think that had anything to do with kids, but was about lost income.

Bingo.

I worked in the UI department until last week, couldn't deal with it.

There's a reason those people are min wage workers.

That's why you no call, no show, and then get into an argument with the manager

Worst case scenario they fire you and you get unemployment. If did they make a stink and try to act like they fired you with cause, you sue them for being racist

Your credit grows with each kid.
