Or should you always try to win? No matter the cost.

I'm of the opinion that the second a situation becomes unwinnable under the rules, the rules cease to matter.

Sounds like something a loser would say to make himself feel better.

The only thing any of us truly have control over in this life is our conduct. The moment we lose that battle we lose the only solitary thing we can control in this life. That’s what makes us losers and winners in my book.

If you didn't follow the rules then you didn't win.

You should always try to win, but someone has to lose.

Train harder, come back, and best the one that beat you.

Depends on the situation. If you’ve Both agreed to abide by the set rules, like in chess or sport, then to cheat is dishonorable. Although you can manipulate the game in unexpected clever ways if you are smart enough.

If it’s a street fight, then there are no rules. Win at all costs.
