re: Is there any place in Louisiana that’s not on I-10 or I-20 that could support a Buccee’s?

Is there really a need for a 20 acre gas station?

I don't blame them for staying away.

We also know other obligations need to be met before they can build anyways.

What the hell would you do with 310, 610, and 510 then besides having them being orphan interstates?

If you routed I-10 through the north shore, you could have called the southern I-10 loop as interstate 6. Those stubs could have been named 306, 606, and 706.

If allowed you could just split I-10 like 35 and 69. I-10S for the New Orleans section and I-10N for the Northshore. I know the cardinal direction is frowned upon, but Dallas/Fort Worth and Minneapolis/St.Paul both have I-35E and I-35W splits. I69 in southern Texas has 3 splits 69E, 69C, and 69W.

I think politics had to do with routing the mainline 10 numbering into New Orleans. It is the same reason for the splits.

I could be wrong, but aren’t all Buckee’s located next to an interstate?

They prefer rural areas anyway. I-49 will never have one because there isn’t enough traffic.

Man I disagree. Everyone from DFW coming to south LA takes 49. If they’re going to the beach they avoid it I’m assuming.

I-49 is probably the most laid back interstate stretch in the whole south. It’s so peaceful but very boring. A buccees would be incentive for more people to take 49

Somewhere like Satsuma/Livingston in 12 would be a great location - basically it would be the only thing off those exits. Grosse Tete would be another one - buy out tiger truck stop and beaverize it.

ETA: LA1088 would be a good one too - where they want to build that logistics hub at.

I was thinking this may be the only place that makes sense on 12 where you would not have much bitching about it

Theft could include robbing other customers on the property, not just stealing from the business.

Future I 49 ( Hwy 90) at Hwy 311 Schriever. Lots of open high land for sale. They like ready to develop land. Also some land on 90 between New Iberia and Patterson ( may not like New Iberia haircut future employees )

Thread hyjack

Kinda like the second variation of this map. Need to continue east paralell to 90 and have I 49 meet elevated Expressway. Also think 3127 should be 4 lane to meet somewhere west of Port Allen

There's one in south Houston that is about the size of a Racetrac type Gas Station. It's the smallest one I've been in. It's about a block or 2 off 288, it's not an official interstate but it's 12 lane hwy.

I-12 in the Robert area would ideal. Away from the city but a ton of traffic.

I’m surprised no one said that Hammond should get one where 2 interstates connect.
I-12 and I-55 would be a good spot for Bucees.
