re: Is there any place in Louisiana that’s not on I-10 or I-20 that could support a Buccee’s?

It’s crazy that Louisiana doesn’t have a Bucee’s.

I think it’s mostly because Louisiana politicians are like this:

I think the area they were looking at in Millerville and I12 went underwater pretty good about the time they had to make a decision. That probably helped make it.

Does Buccee’s take EBT? Serious question?
no they don’t have to bc they do not sell ‘groceries’ like bread and gallons of milk

I think Buc-ee’s should’ve gone to Slidell where I-10, I-12, and I-59 meet - reopen scuttlebutts behind it

But I-12 should be I-10 anyways and I-10 should be a 3 digit route.

What the hell would you do with 310, 610, and 510 then besides having them being orphan interstates?

I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. Right there next to Burneys. You’d pull in business from Bastrop, Sterlington of course, Fairbanks, whatever Lakewood Village is, and last but certainly not least - the Wham Break area.

On the back road in Galliano. Near Walmart/Spahrs area. Would kill with the baws either going to Grand Isle to fish or Fourchon to work.

How many travelers are going to get lost in the Jturns on 3235?

A little further south the new Airport connector road that is being built that area is prime for some redevelopment. Bucees can purchase the Bristow Heliport and they can keep some of the helipads so oilfield baws can stop there to fill up on some beaver nuggets on their trek offshore.

One thing though, with as many people leaving the area, I don’t think that area has as much local traffic and there is not enough through traffic as it once had.

The only place that I think would work in the bayou land would be where the LPSO rifle range is. It is the main exit to Houma, and is close enough to draw in people heading to Grand Isle.

Another place that may work would be the cane fields near 90 on the 308 side, but DOTD would have to do something about the lack of a Westbound entrance ramp and an Eastbound exit. The simplest solution would be to just connect the exits on the LA 1 like 24 in Gray but Bayou Lafourche is still federally navigable there and has vertical clearance requirements even though boats that tall rarely traverse the bayou north of Lockport.

Archie time to make Bucees a priority in your reelection campaign.

They are known by their cleanliness and customer service. I don’t think anywhere in Louisiana will support that.

I think DOTD has some of that land under contract for I-49 or when they build full entrance and on ramps to US90.

I can remember hearing about a public hearing a few years ago where DOTD wanted to make an eastbound exit from US 90 to Northbound 310 that would have started right before you get to the hotel and Hahnville High School on eastbound 90, and then double back behind the school and come up and over US 90 as though there is a new interstate going over US 90.

But a lot of those plans are still subjective at this point because in order for US 90 to become I-49 a whole new alignment needs to be decided on.

One alternative that I heard or saw was a northern alignment that put I-49 north of Boutte. That would negate the need of that long ramp and those “temporary/unfinished” stubs on 310 that were built when the interchange was first built in 1990’s.

Here are DOTD’s plans for 49 when drafted in 2012 for Boutte and Paradis.

This is a joke, right? Covington or Hammond on I/12? Have you ever driven that route?

It would be trashed in a very few years.

Anything easily accessible to the public in Louisiana is going to be fricked.

Tulane lsu was right

There are cathedrals that will stand for another millennia, and those trashy gas stations will be run down monstrosities in the next decade

Are you making the point that gas stations aren't needed or that they need to be built like cathedrals? I hope there is another point being made here because both are ridiculous.
