I love the layout of this site and how easy it is to use. I cant stand forums that have a reddit style layout.
Only other type of layout that compares to TD woukd be those who use vBulletin. Thise are really nice to use as well.

This is/was a good comparison. When I joined a while back it was more of a lawless frathouse, choice of active forums and funny as hell. But the ole place hasn't seemed the same since they lost the Beve - that and Thujone not doing weekly MSpaints...and their major sports chugging balls.
And a second on TD's layout. There's a slow creep of more flashy ads and shite, though - but a brothers gotta make a dollar.

I just really like the layout of this site and considering it started for LSU conversation, you find a lot of similar people here.
Fans of other schools started coming here and it just grew. Other fans sites either have a shitty lay out or ban you for being from an opposing fan base.

the amazing thing about reddit, which i use often, is that people get so tied to their karma.
People delete comments cause they start getting downvoted. It is pathetic.
Their sports subs are too heavily moderated for any real melt-downs or shite talk. There will be solid discussions from time to time but 99% of top post are just some meta meme

There is nothing that compares to this.
It's like TD is inside my mind.
Many moments I am focused on Auburn football (when we are good on every 3rd year) and can hang on the rant.
Many moments I am bored and looking for a great laugh and check out the OT.
Many times I have anxious thoughts about finances and can visit the MB.
Many times I have phone, internet, computer, or Kodi questions and can visit the Tech board.
I have often been on the travel board for ideas.
TL;DR version. This place is the best
It's like TD is inside my mind.

This is an aspect of Reddit that I don't enjoy.
I'll spend some time on Reddit when I want to see some non-local posting and some in the subreddits are pretty active with good content. However, the obsession with "karma" and "gold" is just odd.
Also as mentioned, about half of the front page posts are gamer related so if you aren't into gaming, you likely miss the reference or just don't care.

How so? It's extremely similar to the other threaded software packages like the vbulletins, xenforos, SMFs, etc of the world. It keeps a simple skin which is nice, I hate when people add fancy skins.
I think the key feature for TD is the community and the job done at growing the community, but trying to keep the same feel around here for the most part. Plus the original team still runs the place, forums lose their soul or never have a soul when they are run by more corporate entities. Vertical Scope forums are a good example of that.

Michigan State used to have a really good site that was formatted like Shaggybevo. But, the owner sold out to 247. Shaggy is just too slow and it seems like the same ten people dominating. TD is way better because it's faster and due to the MSB/O-T/poliboard, etc. Shaggy has sub-forums, but the only good one is football.

i AM the IT guy. one time at a big school district i worked at we got blocked from texags. i emailed watchole and they said one user kept getting banned and making alters. i had to promise texags to block their access to get mine back.
so i had to hunt them down in the URL logs to find out it was a "sweet" kindergarten teacher being pretty vulgar during work hours. and she was the sister in law of a friend. that was an awkward conversation.
