Is there any other college website that compares to TD?

This site crosses so many demographics, colleges, regions of the country, and diversity of topics that are each well supported by people from all of the former.
What has made TD so successful as compared to other college websites?

TD is a very tiny fish in the ocean of chat forums

Ive been IP banned there so many times
They banned the entire IP range of my office one time and our IT guy had to contact them to get it lifted
