It’s unbelievable the number of people who gush over her and want to use her a a role model? wtf??

What exactly qualifies her to be a great role model? I will never understand celebrity worship from grown adults. It’s one of the most bizarre and useless phenomena around. The obsession is just so bizarre.

I just don’t see the great appeal that she has. She’s not that talented of a singer. Many singers out there have much better singing voices with better sound, strength, and range. Katy Perry has a lot more range and can hit more notes than Swift for example.

I guess the X-Factor must be that Swift knows how to put on a great show. That’s all I can think of.

As far as looks are concerned, she’s quite meh. She has bad cases of both butter face and noassatall. I don’t see why many dudes would be fans of hers unless they’re gay.

Ok, rant over.

Many parents find her music to be a better alternative to all the terrible music out there that kids listen to these days...

Now, grown adults who are avid fans and talk about her all the time are a little strange, if you ask me...

I don't quite understand it either, but it's not that big of a deal. There are certainly a lot worse celebs young girls could idolize and emulate.

The lyrics to many of her songs convey the thoughts and emotions that many young women can't otherwise express. It's not that hard to figure out.

Is there any logical explanation for the OT Taylor Swift obsession?

For a group that collectively "doesn't give a shite about her looks, her views, or her music," this place starts more threads about her than any other topic on a weekly basis.

Teen idols have been around since the advent of popular music. Fans, mostly teens, gushed over heartthrob acts in the 50s/60s. The Beatles were probably the closest act to invoke such reactions. I’m sure NKOTB and Back Street Boys, Britney Spears too. But for Swift, those teens grew up and became moms. They are now fans with their kids too. She’s very popular with females 5-40yo. Probably a good bit of fan mental illness involved too. The guy fans I’ve seen are mostly gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Not a Taylor hater. She’s very talented, creative, and you’re lying if you say she’s not hot. She also works her arse off hence the case of noassitol.

My daughters listen to her. Went to an Eras concert and was impressed. I don’t listen to her on my own but I don’t cringe when I hear her music.

My ex is 33 and was obsessed with Swift. It was constant Taylor this, Taylor that. The woman that introduced me to my now wife, is 32, single, and obsesses over Taylor. It’s the most cringe shite. Both women are single as can be bc they take their relationship advice from Swift songs. Strange strange shite, almost Aggie cult-like

60s has the Beatles, 70s had the Stones, 80s had no idea because frick the 80s, 90s had Metallica, and Chili Peppers.
