In all honesty, if you told me I had to go do roofing on Monday instead of what I actually have to do, I'd be pretty pumped

shite man, that sucks. I will say, if you're intelligent, you could do well in roofing without actually doing the work, you just have to be able to handle your workforce.

thought 100% of them were illegals now?

The felons sell the roofs, the illegals actually put them on.

And answer to the op is no. My sil works as office manager for roofing companies. She has been employed with about 30 different ones and all are the same.

The OT is slipping.

I didn’t ask. I’m assuming he wants drug free employees.

I see it's been mentioned a couple time here but with no specifics.

Congress.

It's got to be pretty high up on the list.

I saw an article some years ago and I want to say it was something like 40% to 60% of Congress has a criminal record.

Felons mean convicted

Congress is full of lawyers so sadly not enough convictions.

15% of my employees are felons. You have to burn through a few to find the good ones, but once you find the ones that have turned the corner, they are the hardest working and most loyal employees you will ever have. I can't put them on my residential crews, but they're great for new construction commercial or in my fabrication shop. No one will give them a chance, so if you show them some love and foster a work environment where they can grow and get benefits, then they're worth their weight in gold.

They're also good for a small tax credit, FYI.

That is awesome. The ones that want to fix themselves after they have paid their time need people to help them out.

Is this age based?

Seems this is the case for the younger felons, say 55 to 35, that had some work ethics in the first place. Not sure about the under 35 set, as felons or not, they have issues understanding what work actually entails.

Not sure about painters being felons

Seems they get a lot of misdemeanors tho, especially related to drinking. I have not had them show up as they were in jail for drinking issues the weekend before.
