Minor league baseball games are a really good deal. Cheap tickets, food, and beer. Plus you get admission to two shows for the price of one: the game itself and the trashy crowd

If they made the goal 10 feet wider and eliminated offsides, soccer would be a great sport to watch.

I'll bite.

Soccer is basically the antithesis of basketball. In soccer, every goal is huge. Because of this, even every chance to score is important. In basketball, every goal is basically meaningless because you score so frequently. They are two very different games.

Also, fwiw there exists arena soccer which is probably more up your alley. It's played essentially on a hockey rink with turf instead of ice and less players. Games are shorter, there's no offsides (but there is a rule like hockey where you can't basically pass across the whole field), and more goals. I've never heard of a professional league though. There's a place you can play in geismar though. Pretty fun.
