Very true.. i recently found out that the vet clinic ive used for a long time was sold to a corporate entity .. only found out since i noticed their fees had gone up dramatically and one of the employees mentioned to me off the record that the practice had been “acquired”.. Id like to switch to a non-corporate owned practice, but does anyone know how to find out if a particular practice is corporate or more mom and pop ? Becuase most obviously dont advertise it, and id never have know this about my vet clinic unless the employee hadnt mentioned it to me .

Wait until you have to start seeing specialists. My cat developed epilepsy last June at 14 months old.
I've spent $2k in just cat blood work and specialist visits since May 4th of this year. That doesn't count anything else for her, my dog or anything prior to that date.

How many people would put up with a roommate who they have to feed every meal, sometimes shits on the carpet, smells and makes loud noises, never pays rent, makes you pay his medical bills, etc.?
The same is true of kids, but you legally have to deal with them if the adoption place can’t find a spot for them. But the pets are unrelated strangers invited in to render such abuse.

Ha! Just spent $550 two weeks ago on my rescue dog. 4 days later another $50 for meds an another $80 for a follow up visit today.

Y’all are all getting ripped off. I took my dog in on Tuesday. 3 teeth extracted, 7 days of amoxicillin, total bill $60.50.

He was correct,. She got most of the use of that paw back and lasted about fourteen more years.
He died. His business was sold to money makers.
We're just thankful to have reasonable spay/neuter through Young Williams in Knoxville and rabies shots through the county health department.

Molly and Murray cost me quite a bit every year, with heart worm and flea/tick medication and whatever comes up.
My vet saved Molly's life a few years ago, and I'll continue to pay her whatever she asks for what she says we need to do.
My dogs are my family. Some people see pets as no different than an animal in the wild. I'm not one of those people.
