I have gotten to many fake/counterfeit items from Amazon...so much so that I have quit using them all together.

Never happened to me and I make 3-4 orders a week

I love Amazon but Costco is right there. Discount Tire is another phenomenal company to do business with.

This is true. Oft times they are lowest, but not everytime that it's worth checking another website. Or your local store.

I use Amazon for the convenience. It can't be beat in that sense.

Amazon is clutch for me when it comes to BDay/Xmas/wedding/whatever presents. Never do I have to spend substantial time looking for a gift for anyone ever.

Let those wannabe Steve Jobs minions in Seattle work 90 hrs a week.

Well lately, they have been off loading final delivery to the USPS and 2 days is becoming 3 or 4 days because of those inept frickers at the post office.

Bruh, just hang in for the drones.

On the other hand, the USPS will get it to you Saturday and Sunday, so there's that.

Chick fil a is way up there because they're so much better than the second closest company in ther sector. Actually, I don't even know the second best company in their category.

Their reviews have "verified purchase" attached at the top of each comment for people who leave reviews after they purchase that item from their account. That's extremely helpful in determining legitimate reviews.

All of that and they can't even turn a profit.

Haha, you are such an idiot if you think they "can't make a profit." They are making insane money and they keep investing it back into the company which keeps making even more money and their employees, especially those high up, are making BANK. Don't be so stupid to think a company on such a scale as Amazon is not making money, it would never have gotten to be as big as it is.

My first order on my amazon account was over 14 years ago (may 2001). The last few years I have averaged more than one order per week. Over the last 6 months or so I have been looking elsewhere for products I normally get from Amazon because of the following things just from the past year...
- Their prime shipping isn't as reliable as it used to be.
- Many items have early cutoff shipping times.
- overnight shipping is more expensive for all items. Something I almost bought this week would have been $8.99 for overnight
- Saturday shipping is more expensive than it used to be
- on a few occasions I have bought new items but received used ones.

Earlier this week I made my first purchase from jet.com . Jet doesn't have the selection amazon does but the had several items I needed and it was much cheaper than amazon.

Amazon is absolutely the best. Their return customer service is so easy and remarkable. Their prices are usually among the lowest. Prime is incredible.. Can usually get next day shipping for just a few bucks if needed.. Even when local FedEx doesn't deliver on time and it's not their fault.. They still make it up to me with free prime for another month.. Oh and their tracking system is nice with automatic tracking text updates.

The main thing is they get the products shipped out so fast and even have Sunday delivery.. They also have great warehouse deals on like new items with 2 day prime shipping

About the only thing Amazon has over everyone else is SKUs and country presence. They have over 185+ million SKUs (as of last year); way more than anyone else. They got a nice head start on all the other online retailers.

But when it comes to price, other companies lead in that category (Walmart and Jet). I have been a Prime member for several years but will not renew next year. I don't order enough online from them to warrant their fee and their streaming selection is horrible. And as somone mentioned, "2-day" shipping is usually inaccurate.

Overall, Amazon is good if you want to consistently shop at a place that'll probably have what you are looking for, but you probably still won't pay lowest price on it. I'd rather get lowest price, all else equal.
