Doctors say there's not enough information available to make that claim.

Lol, France and the US are counting everyone that dies from Covid including deaths outside of the hospitals and in Nursing Homes. Italy and Spain are not.

WWL featured a local woman who took it and it worked.

I know someone who had the covid and he said he was getting worse and worse until he was prescribed hydroxychloroquine. He feels like it saved his life.

If I had the bug and I took hydrochloroquine and I was the guy that got the runs but the treatment worked, I would go on TV and show my feces filled underwear......."Here, is the worst that can happen.......make sure you have clean underwear available for after along with Charmin.....and.....bleach....plenty of bleach."

It is for some people, but there isn't enough scientific data yet for the entire medical community to fully endorse it. A lot of anecdotal evidence on its effectiveness is very encouraging though.

So how is that supposed to affect the efficacy of the drug combo exactly? We can't say it works, but it doesn't work if a lot of people become sick.

If you don’t start taking it until your lungs look like mashed potatoes on an x-ray it doesn’t help, but if you take it early, I think it does.

Take it with a grain of salt, but Oz is claiming a French scientist used it on 1000 patients and 97% were symptom free in 10 days. A handful still died, but overwhelmingly successful.

Said study will be published soon.

Also, they noticed a correlation between those on ACE inhibitors and death.

Incorrect. That's what I thought until yesterday too. See link. In the US, there are still ~423k people of ~465k confirmed cases total who have neither died or been cleared of virus. If you look at the "Recovered" (25k) and "Deaths" (16k) column...those remaining 423k are going to end up in one of them, eventually. And the death one is nowhere near 1.5%.

You’re missing a pretty key part of this analysis - it takes much longer for someone to be deemed “recovered” than “dead”. Someone can die a week or less after onset of symptoms, but they can’t be deemed “recovered” until weeks after the end of symptoms. This becomes a huge issue when we are still on the front end of the infection curve.

I suspect that if you looked at the cumulative curves of total cases, total deaths, and total recoveries you would see this:
- Total deaths lag total cases by 1-3 weeks
- Total recoveries lag total deaths by 3-5 weeks

For example, keep in mind that almost 90% of Louisiana’s confirmed cases have occurred in the past two weeks, 50% in the past week alone. 90% of Louisiana’s deaths have occurred in the past two weeks, 56% in the past week. However, none of these cases could possibly have been asymptomatic long enough to be classified as recoveries.

If you’re going to compare deaths to recoveries you have to offset the timeline long enough to actually count the recoveries, which in Louisiana means excluding 90+% of cases.

TLDR - comparing total deaths to total recoveries only works after the outbreak is over.

I’m a republican, but there is a flip side to this. A lot of folks on the right thought this was just the flu. They were equally idiotic.

98% survival rate. The vaunted “Models” revised DOWN to 60,000 deaths. (From 2 million!!.)

I don’t think they’re idiots for their thoughts.

I think the idiots are the ones who bought into the hype and hysteria. Plenty are still out there.

Well, that screws me.... I'm on it for HBP. But, I am physically in really good shape otherwise. Heart rate in mid 70's. Cholesterol on the floor and do TaeKwon Do 4X a week....it is a great workout if you are over 50

Don’t think you have to be one to pass along info... but since you think you’re cool with a quip

Oz has been a professor at the Department of Surgery at Columbia University since 2001.[24] He directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.[25] His research interests include heart valve replacement surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and health care policy

As much of an expert as any other goon the news brings up to talk doom and gloom.

Right. Let’s not forget, the second the WH took action in January, dems started calling it “the flu” as well. Even going as far as to encourage people to hang out in Chinatown. The politicization of this thing has been embarrassing.

I love how the same people that promote you should vape CBD oil for your anxiety (which is not scientifically proven, not FDA regulated, and potentially harmful) are against a FDA approved and regulated medication that has been around for several years and could potentially save many lives.
