We've had this thread. And I'd love to have one to drive on longass road trips. Go to Alaska, see the Canadian Rockies, see the Colorado Rockies. I think it would make a GOAT travel vehicle.

Can I put a pallet of sod and a toolbox in it? What's the biggest tire I can throw on there?

Not sure about all of that, but I would have gotten one if I didn't have 4 kids - all of which are pre-teens/teens. The backseat was just too small for my kid situation. Not necessarily that the backseat was too small for most. If I only had 2 kids, I probably would have gotten one. I don't tow, don't have a camp, don't hunt, etc so it would have been perfect for me. Drives well, should last forever, pretty good quickness - all important everyday qualities.

Certainly not a manly truck. In fact my wife and kids said they would be embrassed if I got one, ha. If I thought it was the vehicle for me, I would still have gotten one though. Bigger tires would help it to look better, but I'm not sure if there's much room with the wheel well to do that.

Yes, for those in the market for mid-size trucks like the Colorado or Tacoma.

"The Ridgeline can hold 33.9 cubic feet of cargo in its bed, 7.3 cubic feet in the bed trunk, and 2.9 cubic feet in the rear under seat storage compartment. Towing capacity is up to 5,000 pounds (with AWD, 3,500 pounds with FWD) and payload capacity is up to 1,580 pounds. The bed tie-downs can handle up to 350 pounds".

Cool storage features:

If it looked decent that would be one thing, but the bed is the most ridiculous thing I've seen this side of the Avalanche.

This is subjective. It's unibody design, so no it's not built to haul like other trucks. But there are dozens of other reasons/uses for a truck. Not everyone hauls a boat in their daily lives, nor do they ever care to. Just need something to move furniture, take the dogs on a trip, haul sod and crap that's too dirty for a car/SUV backseat. Read some consumer reports. The Ridgeline is always one of the best rated, notwithstanding lower hauling capabilities. But again, you know what the Ridgeline is and isn't when you go into buying it. If you don't need it for hauling, then it does just about everything else you want it to and does it well.

I think the Ridgeline is a pussy truck

I'm sure Ridgeline owners everywhere are now regretting their purchase

I'll agree the design the last couple years is terrible. Their 2007-2014 models were fine IMO. Very reminiscent of the Avalanche. Now it looks like a minivan on the front.

I told him that he’d be made fun of if he got one and to look for an F150 instead.

Again, . Are you the type that comments on other guys' fashion and clothing choices too? Who gives a shite.

Also, the Ridgeline and F-150 are two different classes. Mid-size vs. full size. If he wants mid-size he should look into the Canyon, Colorado, Tacoma, etc. Ford is also bringing back the Ranger.

ETA: I think the roof rack addition on the '07-'14 models were a pretty decent look.

2nd gen body style is awful and looks like an SUV with a bed. 1st gen looked much better. The in-bed cargo trunk is pretty cool. Used to just leave fishing poles and tackle box in there so I'd have my gear with me for random days I'd decide to stop at the lakefront and fish for an hour or 2 on the way home from work. But Ridgeline sucks off pavement if the ground is soft/wet at all...which is a main reason I got rid of mine.

neither is the tacoma, they are just posers, under powered, no cargo capacity, no suspension "fake trucks" that you can haul groceries in but not much else

For most people, it will be good enough at being a "truck" at least as far as its capabilities hauling stuff. It does however look like a woman truck... no way around that.

It's not heavy duty, and it will not do legitimate off-roading. But my buddy's wife has one, and we used it to haul gigantic arse stones (between 10-80lbs each) all over his property.

Have a 2006 about to hit the 300k mark with minimal maintenance issues. Praise Honda.

If you aren't someone who needs to haul a lot/big boats/or a 5th wheel then it's fine. I use it for carrying mulch, hauling furniture, plants, etc. Basically anything you need a bed for. Drives like a car.

I'll probably just get a taco with my next purchase though
