I promise Ween was better. But to each his own.

It's not like Ween played to no one. They sold out multiple shows in New Orleans on the same weekend!

Is the ‘once in a decade’ type atmosphere around Baton Rouge and Garth a little embarrassing??? Shows how little Louisianians get out?

I read somewhere it was his first visit back in like 24 years or something. So not "once in a decade".

Plus he has a very famous song that shared a name with the city...it was like a top ten ticketed, single act concert in North American history. But, nah, just keep bashing it.

I've read the US record is near 107K and with them selling at least 102K to the general public, when you consider all the tickets not sold to the general public... I would not be shocked to see it close to 110K.

That stadium was absolutely packed including the field.

I was explaining to a co-worker that I saw the LSP Helo touch down on the LSU Practice field no less than 5 times during and shortly after the Baseball game. They were ferrying special guests in all day. Now imagine the special guests who arrived via regular police escorts. Those people ain't holding regular tickets to the concert. The stadium clubs and the press boxes were STUFFED with fans.
The Suites on the otherhand do keep track of each ticket at 25 per suite
117-124k is an accurate estimate so far.

Pretend he doesn't have a song that mentions louisiana and put it at literally any other venue and people don't give a frick nearly as much as they have the past 2 days.

He packed like 80k people into Razerback Stadium in Fayetteville just over a week ago.

Probably because of his personality.

There's talk that this was the largest live audience for a single performer concert... ever.

Well, that's not even close to true.

Wth are you talking about? He announced his Dallas show here 2 weeks ago and it’s all over the place. He’s a megastar and people want to see him live

It's not even close to Garth Brooks in Central Park.

As for the OP, no it's not just a BR thing. Knoxville was the same way when he came through just before COVID put his tour on hold.

Except for the fact that he's selling out stadium venues around the country. Do they care here more than other places, sure. BUT, his music is (in his words) a small thread in the fabric that is LSU football.

Lets not make it seem like this was Better than Ezra or Three Doors Down. This is one of the most successful recording artists of all time. A MULTIPLE time Entertainer of the Year known for putting on a great show.

It might be the largest ticketed concert ever, but Garth had close to 1 million people in Central Park in a free show years ago.

Not even close.

Some Italian dude did 225k in 2017. Grateful Dead did 107k back in the 70s. A few others like Paul McCartney and Sinatra did 175k+ at some stadium in Rio. Rolling Stones did 120k in England.

The OP is obviously from New Orleans. I would like to remind the OP that we are one Hurricane away from having Jazz Fest, Saints games and most other functions relocated to Baton Rouge AGAIN.

He didn't qualify it with "in the US."

Not sure what Baby Tac point, but I have been to several rock & country concerts and enjoy listening to both. But hands down Garth is the best entertainer that I have seen.
