"Flyover" does not literally translate to states that planes fly over. It means places with little or no national interest or attention. Some states in the Midwest are also major airport hubs where many will LAY OVER to get to their destination -- but I don't think that makes them a "flyover" state.

"Flyover Country" is a term used in NYC and Hollywood about the real America

Exactly. How does this forum manage to get something so simple like this wrong? "Flyover states" is nothing but a self-aggrandizing term used by LA and NYC.

It's not like Texas ever fails to take the bait on imagined slights though. They're like the Izzy Mandelbaum of states.
