With the craze of bottled water taking over and millineals looking at you like you just put a turd in your mouth when you fill up a glass of tap water to drink...have regulations, ect gone down over the past couple of decades? Growing up all we drank was tap water and never had health issues because of it. Why is it so looked down upon now? Is the bottled water industry the biggest rip off to hit the market?

My FIL was a distribution manager for the Parish Waterworks. According to him regulations are more strict now but the pipes are older. I guess it's a wash.

I still drink tap water.

According to the Poli Board, it shouldn't really matter.

A few years ago Fiji ran an ad campaign with the tag line "It says Fiji because it's not bottled in Cleveland." Cleveland's water department took offense and tested their tap water against Fiji: turns out the tap water was purer. LINK

Unless they are made of PVC which doesn't rust. Then your copper plumbing has its own antimicrobial effect. Given the advances in municipal water treatment, tap water is often safer than bottled (which itself is tap water before being bottled in most cases).

I can't figure out why the water from my bathroom sink tastes different than the water from my kitchen sink. Random thought

My tap water isn't terribly unclean, but it does have an off taste. I installed a filter and that at least makes it taste good.

I wish so badly I was the one that thought to bottle tap water and sell it for $3 a bottle.

Dasani is straight up tap water.

All bottled water comes from a tap. Start printing labels at home and refilling your empties with tap water. Your friends will take notice while you tell them it's the best water money can buy. Profit.

I drink bottled water for convenience, not that I think it is any cleaner. I use drink packets sometimes and will keep an empty bottle around to refill with tap water.

You're more likely to drink from your kitchen sink. The government knows this. They are exposing you to chemicals.

Nothing better than taking a sip of water that tastes like you're bleeding your mouth.

Anyone who lives in Baton Rouge and refuses to drink tap water is an idiot.
