It is a big deal, but it also sounds like suing you for it would be a complete waste of time. The $350 he'd net from the sale of your Plywood Palace wouldn't come close to covering his legal fees.

What are these insulting mannerisms? Does he stand up straight instead of slouching? Walk heel to toe instead of dragging his boots? Does he cross his hands and slowly nod his head while you're ranting while his eyes look side to side as if he's desperately hoping someone will walk up and interrupt the conversation?

I once knew a man who tried to have me arrested for Slander for saying he was a child molester and a sex offender. (Yes, he is. I told many people and I passed out the public record of his confession and conviction).
So he was pissed but i was right to out him. He wanted a public position/job that a sex offender should not have (around children and vulnerable people).
The sheriff laughed and told him " It's not slander if it is true". ( I had already personally handed him a copy of the paperwork days before).

You're talking shite about your brother because he's made a great living for himself?
My oldest brother started a business and he has made himself very wealthy. Owning helicopter, prime hunting lodge, and fishing camp wealthy. I couldn't be more proud of him and I even get to benefit from it by getting some awesome hunts, deep sea fishing, and skipping traffic.
Use your negative energy towards bettering yourself and maybe one day your wife will find you adequate.
