Damn dude, why can’t you be happy for your bro for being successful instead of green with envy? You probably have a little dick as well.

He's an entrepreneur, and smart, but his mannerisms seem like he thinks he's better than me.
Years ago after my father died and while I was attempting to step in and solve some horrendously shitty personal family issues that arose from that, my older sister (and renown drug addict) decided to come and squat in my dad's house I was attempting to sell. One day, while outside pulling old bushes and doing yard work to get the house ready to show, she came outside dripping wet wrapped in a towel screaming at me like a longshoreman...mad about the will that my dad had left.
While standing there covered in dirt and grass, sweating my arse off trying to help she stood there flailing around screaming "MOTHER frickER!!" at me and finally tossed out the fantastic accusation of, "You think you're better than me...DON'T YOU???" "Well...yeah. You're standing there screaming profanities at me dripping wet wrapped in a towel in our dead dad's yard while I'm here doing work and trying to help a situation I could walk away from. Of course I'm better than you."
Yes...he definitely thinks he's better than you.

You also need to know it's not true or have reckless disregard for the truth, right?
Correct.

Defamation requires publication. Slander does not.
I had a discussion on this topic with an attorney not long ago. As it pertains to law, defamation, libel, and slander are now lumped together as one.
It can be vocalized or publicized in writing. It doesn't really matter much anymore. As long as you know what you are writing/saying is not true, your intent is to harm the person in some manner, and you disclose it to any third party (including law enforcement), you are guilty.
