Back in 2001, my boss gave all employees an XM portable car receiver. I paid $299 for the lifetime membership and listen 24/7 in the car & streaming app at home/work.

Best plan I saw was $9 a month for music. How you getting $6?

Same. Been riding that lifetime subscription since 2008.

I just received $4/month offer for 12 months, definitely worth it.

I find great stuff to then add to my Spotify. Like Outlaw country and Chris Stapleton radio.

Ive been having the premium plan for over 10 years at $19.95 a month. Purchased a new car and when the trial expired I called Sirius to add my new car. Sales person advised me it’s a new app so I would have to pay an additional $19.95 to my bill would be almost $40. I said no, I will just use car play and complained. They came back with offer after offer till finally they offered it to me for $4 per month on each vehicle, so $8 per month. Unbelievable….. of course it’s a 1 year rate but I was ok paying $20 a month cause I use it everyday at the gym.

Didn't realize it was so cheap
Only if you haggle and play games with them every fricking year.
I feel like they would probably keep a lot more subscribers if they just gave EVERYONE the cheapest price available and cut all the bullshite.

Apparently you’ve missed the posts from guys in this thread who’ve been paying $40 per month or $350 per year for two cars or whatever just b/c they didnt know any better .

I’ve never heard a story of them telling someone that they can’t have a cheaper rate if they ask for it. I’m sure it does happen, but not often. They probably depend on the same model as Planet Fitness. 2-3 subscribers paying full price balance out 2-3 subscribers paying $4/month. No telling how many millions of people don’t call to negotiate every year.

Are there any commercials? I hate paying a sub and then still getting hours of commercials.

I find a good bit of value in it. Nice lineup of channels for news, talk, faith, jazz, and more of what I’m in to listening to during the day.

Got it back in the early 2000's on a deal for a new truck, the dealer also bought me a radio to be compatible. Still have it but the dj talk to fricking much. I also have pandora, but they don't carry sports (astros) so I have both.

Just call them and tell them you never listen to it and want to cancel. My price is $4.99 month for platinum plan. This is good until whenever I decide to cancel. I don't have to call back every six or twelve months. I've never paid their ridiculous full price and have had Sirius/XM for about twenty years.

I pay $5 total for two cars. I want to say it’s a $1.99- $1.79 plus the tax etc.

I second this.
SiriusXM’s audio compression sucks for music. The audio sounds very thin. But at least, it is not as bad as an AM radio or an overdriven FM station. Early Sirius sounded better, but as they added more channels for music and sports, they declined in quality.

I always call the week before mine expires and cancel it w/o asking to speak to anyone else about pricing. In a week or so you will receive MULTIPLE offers in the mail to return. They will send them for a year asking you to sign up for $4 per month for a year. Accept it and mark it on your calendar on your phone. Cancel each year the week prior to expiration, rinse and repeat. I have been doing this for YEARS. I love it and can go w/o it for a week or so until I receive the offers in the mail.

I began questioning that yesterday on a long drive. We are paying for it on 2 vehicles.
Sirius is not used by myself a lot because I have several podcast subscriptions on my phone but I did tune in to Patriot channel just because I was in a dead zone where cell phone signals are dicey.
I almost forgot that I was on Sirius because the program was interrupted several times with commercials selling Relief Factor, diet plans, time share people, and others. I thought the reason we signed up for it was to not have to listen to commercials.
It also occurred to me that I could use the iHeart or Spotify just as well at zero cost. You can download podcasts while you have signals.
I believe I'll be giving them a call.
Thanks for the reminder.
