Kidnapping for ransom

It's been pretty much impossible to get away with since the '30s, as a result it's basically disappeared

"Why did you rob a bank?" "Because that's where the money is".

It is certainly right up there. Bills have had the fake stash attached with the dye for 20 years now -- at least. Cameras are everywhere. Tellers have no problem handing over money because it is replaceable and they are taught. The only way it would be dumber is if the tellers had a gun pointed at the customers at all times, just in case.

Did they ever catch the guys that robbed the Wells truck outside of Chase in Uptown New Orleans? I think that was the group’s second time with the same type of robbery but that time they killed one of the truck guards really for no reason.

You take the money and buy a bunch of drugs then sell said drugs boom easy launder. Also you put each stack of bills into seperate ziplock bags so you don’t ruin all of them if the dye goes off

I’ve heard that the average amount stolen from an armored car robbery is higher than bank robberies. Plus, the armored car robberies have a higher rate of unsolved crimes. Added together says armored cars are the way to go instead of a bank.

Does the ol wash the money at the casino thing still work? Or are the bills all flagged as stolen as soon as they’re taken?

If you where mask and make sure you do not expose anything that can be used to ID you, then the cameras will not be much help.. But everything would have to go perfect in order for someone to successfully rob a bank.

You think they tag every bill in a bank?
Each teller has a bait stash but it’s not a large amount.

People get away with all sorts of crimes everyday. My hypothesis is they get away with robbing banks at a much lower rate.

That’s barely laundering. Probably closer to rinsing. You’ll have to launder the drug money too.

It’ll be easy to get pictures of you from the security camera paying with the bills even if you get away at the time.
I certainly don't think it's a good idea, but they likely already have you on camera from the bank robbery.

Read about a guy in an ama who claimed to successfully rob a string of banks. Claimed the key was not to get greedy. Walk in and just take what is in the drawer. Don't try to go for the safe. Just grab a quick several hundred or maybe few thousand if you get lucky. Don't even have to be armed. Tellers will generally just cooperate.

Who knows if it's all bullshite. I'm not planning on testing it to see.
