The good ole Protestants followed martin Luther who told them To read the actual scriptures themselves and follow Christ rather than a church steeped in corruption and indulgences for sins.
FIFY, and BTW, Catholics have no rocks to throw for shedding innocent blood. The Spanish inquisitions pretty much makes your case null and void.

So, did Christ say to lay up treasures on this earth? Far from it. He said that where your treasure is there will your heart be also. He said that it is easier for a camel to get through the of of the needle than a rich man to get into heaven, the eye of the needle being the lowly entrance into Jerusalem where the poor and humble entered I take it. And, more than anything, His life itself was not one that surrounded itself with extravagance but rather very humble and giving. Christ did not walk this earth in fine garments, or driving nice chariots, I don’t see Christ wearing fine jewelry, or a Rolex, or living in a mansion with his own private jet.
True. But Jesus was also an apocalyptic preacher who believed judgment day was near. That being the case, of course earthly possessions and family ties are unimportant.
I don’t know if the world would even function if everyone behaved like Francis of Assisi.

The destruction of the temple and Jerusalem was only a few years after his warning in Matt 24 (that was the warning message he taught in Jerusalem)

Catholicism is a perverted, ritualistic denomination of Christianity. Catholics believe in various methods of paying for sins; Jesus clearly established that he is the only method of payment for sins.
Come on guys, we can't let our religious differences divide us. If we don't use our faith to love and empathise with our common man then we're no different than those filthy Hindus.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Peter founded the Catholic Church...
So go worship Peter.
So we no longer believe in inerrancy of the bible?

Want to meet at the Sonic's Upper Room and discuss this?

yes. But it certainly seems to be well received.

FIFY And, by the way, absolutely correct!

Prosperity Gospel is not the true Gospel.

esus loves people who worship Him correctly. Why do you think so many Protestants are well to do while so many catholic countries are shitholes?

You’re arguing with the wrong guy first of all, but that verse is vague as shite.

Average Methodist Sermon:
Hymns/Catholic-lite trappings
A reading from the book of Winnie the Pooh Learns About Sharing
Offering
Pastor tells us a slightly funny, completely uncontroversial and modestly relevant anecdote
Sermon: Why Sharing is Good (complete with one or two references to God)
Sending forth: Go out and share and be nice

You left out the Gloria Patri, Doxology and Apostles Creed. And communion on First Sundays. And hot hiding from others when gathering football booze at 12:03.
