Walking across a parking lot that's still radiating 140 degree heat at 1 am is fricking miserable

Was there in June a couple years ago for a job interview. Left a restaurant/bar at around 1030 PM and it was still 105.

No way I could move there with a family.

Kids could never go outside and play for half the year.

One of my least favorite things about most of the Gulf South is the heat. I get it's not as humid but if I left this area of the country it would be for cooler temps and seasonal weather.

105 is 105, humidity or not and it's miserable. PHX is miserable most of the year.

Flagstaff ticks those boxes. But hard to find good jobs there and housing costs are through the roof right now.

Yeah I like it there. I work in IT so there are a lot of remote options. Just not in the cards right now with a kid almost in HS.

Flagstaff is probably more my scene than Phoenix. I'm not very interested in living in a real big city at this point.

Oh this is one of those threads where some cheese dick goes on vacation somewhere and acts like it's the greatest place on earth because they experienced it for a week.

I don't know how this post has a downvote. Flagstaff is very pretty, so whoever downvoted must live somewhere really effing nice.

I've been SW of Phoenix in June/July and the sun damn near hurts your skin. Imagine being in a place where the water running out of your kitchen faucet isn't cold, or even cool for that matter.

Or if you accidentally touch the car you get a 3rd degree burn. I used to have to carry a t-shirt or rag to turn the steering wheel it was so fricking hot.

Spent a few weeks commuting to Gila Bend with no AC back when they were setting records every day. I'd drink an entire gallon of water and have to drive in my boxers and no shirt.

As long as you have a nice car with strong tint and AC, a garage at home, covered parking at work, and misters/pool in your backyard the summer is manageable.

Working outside in that shite is soul sucking.

People who like MLB Spring Training in March or Barrett Jackson in January

Or visiting AZ for GC, Sedona, Page, etc and spending a couple days in PHX metro first.
