Very easy to find safe areas here.
Scottsdale is nice but Sunny Slope and South Phoenix nothing but tweakers, homeless and javelinas.
And wtf is Guadalupe? It's like someone threw a mexican border town complete with chickens in every yard right down in Tempe. Who came up with that idea?
Plus super hot. The major selling point of PHX is that it's 5 hrs from San Diego. You're much better off just living in San Diego and saving the gas money.
San Diego is beautiful, on the ocean and has fantastic weather.
PHX is the HOU of the southwest.

Goodyear is pretty terrible. It's one of those places where all the buildings look the same no matter commercial or residential and the signage can't be more than 4 ft high. And every structure is painted some version of the same color brown. It makes some Plano cookie cutter neighborhood look like a garden district.

OMG yes! I once got lost leaving IKEA (years ago when I first moved to the area) and ended up driving through Guadalupe and there were chickens running all over the roads there. Felt like I had crossed the border or something

I miss the Patagonia/Sonoita area.

It's nice if you like urban sprawl, strip malls, no downtown, and oppressive heat 6 months of the year, it's great.

Tucson the city sucks though.
Only thing cool about Tucson is Mt Lemmon.
Yeah, I'm not gonna have you talking about my hometown like that.
Tucson has a ton of outdoors activity opportunities Phoenix lacks. I live a 5 minute drive from mountain hikes and in the middle of restaurant and city options.
Tucson has a real cultural blend with the proximity to the border and you get things like Dia Del Muerte that aren't things elsewhere.
Phoenix has a lot of strip malls back to back. It'll be a cold day in Phoenix/hell when I don't rank Tucson over Phoenix.

Why the frick do I want to be within 3 hours of the Grand Canyon?
Posted on 8/28/19 at 2:23 pm to Rep520
I just didn’t care for it. I’m more a city girl.
Tucson made me feel like I was in Baton Rouge....in the desert.
But that’s just my opinion, I only lived there for 3 months.

Yeah, frick driving over like 3 hours. I'll fly and rent a car.

Tucson is a million times better than Phoenix. Not close in any category if you enjoy doing anything outside.

Father lives there I visit every holiday and this last Fiesta Bowl.
The area is fricking awesome.

We were in Tuscon for like 20 minutes and saw 6 homeless people. Maybe it was just a bad part of town, but left a bad impression

Just imagine how much more sexually frustrated you could be if you moved there!

Yes its a little hot during the Summers, but I think its a fair trade off
You're talking dry summers, though right?
That would be less miserable than here.

Besides Mt Lemmon....tell me what I can do in Tucson that I cannot do in PHX metro or a short drive away from?
Hike nearby? Squaw Peak or Camelback or North Mountain or Thunderbird Trail or South Mountain
Fishing/boating....Lake Pleasant
Golf? Scottsdale alone has like 200 golf courses.
Also....PHX metro is much closer to Sedona and Flag and other great areas in northern AZ(Prescott, Payson, etc). It’s like a 3-4 hour drive for y’all to Sedona
