Phoenix does very little for me. It's big and bland. There are a lot of other cities in Arizona with a more unique history and experience.

says every tucsonan, until they move to phoenix. i know, because i used to say the same thing when in lived in tucson.

Flagstaff and Tucson have better outdoors options and a more unique culture. Sedona, Prescott and Bisbee are cool small towns. Phoenix is an endless suburb.

again, lots of tucson in this post. there are lots of distinct neighborhoods in phoenix, like sam hughes, downtown, and university in tucson. it's just so big, that unless you're here and have spent some time here, they can be hard to find. to be sure, the suburbs are endless suburbs.

and as far as outdoor opportunities, i think phoenix has tucson beat on everything but mount lemmon. but phoenix is closer to prescott, sedona, flag, the rim, and the white mountains than tucson is to those regions.

there is nothing that i miss about tucson (and i miss quite a bit) that does not have an equal or better analogue in phoenix.

I go every year. Anything is better than this humid shithole.

This is true. I hear the stadiums are all much closer in Arizona than florida

It's pretty similar.

Only one major interstate through the city. Surface streets are chewed up and clogged, most of the city is a dump. Only difference is that the nice side of town is on the north side, not the south.

not quite. as someone who moved from BR to tucson, i'll take tucson over baton rouge every day of the week and twice on sunday.

the biggest thing that both BR and tucson have in common is the major chip on their shoulders about their larger civic counterparts, new orleans and phoenix.

Not true at all....it’s a very social event here each year. Lots of young people go and drink and look at cars.

Great people watching. Lots of hot young chicks go dressed slutty to try and snag older rich men. And that doesn’t include the prostitutes there as well...that’s just the gold diggers.
