Yeah blatantly open carry is kinda dbag in most cases obviously depends on the situation. Out on the farm or coming off it, etc. But your regular work attire or the movies etc then just conceal.
Key thing for open carry is being ok if you accidently show your piece while concealing, and some crazy lib goes nutz.

I see people open carrying around Hammond all the time.
It’s typically what I’d call “wannabe badasses.” You know the type, flatbill w/ shorts and a baggy shirt bunched up at the side to show his piece. Not all the time but this MO is prevalent.
I figure most legit people take the time to get a CC permit.

There is nothing wrong with open carry, but those guys give it a bad look.

I personally wouldn't do it in public. I'd prefer people to not know that I'm armed. I've had a CCL for years though.

I know it's legal here if you're commuting to and from some outdoorsy activity but open carry is banned in FL outside of that, so no.

Yep. I assume most who do (and not going into the woods) are doing it to make a point. CC is much better.

I think it's a bit over the top. I don't think there should be laws preventing it but i think it's stupid. if somebody does start shooting you're going to be the first target since they know you're carrying. It can also draw a bunch of negative attention to gun owners if you are carry at a chuckeecheese or some shite
I open carry when I am bow hunting or hog hunting. Other than that I conceal a .380 in a wallet holster.

I am for open carry but, in my area, I've found the ones that do open carry shouldn't. Several times I've had to deal with someone open carrying and drinking. Another time was an overly obese guy with an airbrushed shirt that said "Captain Redneck" who did not know the difference between public and private property. I am sorry, I just do not trust you to use your firearm under duress.

Agreed Scruffy. I mean I’ve been in a C-Store during hunting season forgetting I still had my Kabar strapped to my leg, and it wouldn’t bother me if a guy walked in with a pistol on his belt just out of the woods or off the farm. I carry my XDS in a belt holster when I’m in the woods, but I always take it off when I get back to the truck.
I went to a range recently where there were three of these types shooting a Desert Eagle, Judge, and a long barrel .357. I mean, good for them and all. But it was funny watching one of them try to keep his flatbill from interfering with his glasses and earmuffs

I'm not a fan of open carry in general. Much rather concealed carry. Why advertise? If a guy is about to go on a shooting rampage and he sees an open carry guy nearby....guess who his first target will be.

Open carry in a holster on the hip and I'm fine. Open carry with no holster and tucked in behind the belt buckle and I'm watching him real close.

Kind of how I feel about it too, and I have a kid. I started teaching my daughter about firearms when she was 6-7 years old. I'm 100% sure she wouldn't touch a gun that was sitting on the counter.
I have an 800 lb safe in my home because I don't trust her friends

How would you feel about someone carrying in your house without telling you? Been mulling that lately. .my rule is, if the neighborhood is known by it's ward number, take the 9mm. Everyone else a .22 is fine.
Fairly certain it’s a statutory requirement in LA to notify a homeowner and get permission beforehand

When I see someone with a sidearm in Target or wherever, I just assu,e he’s a detective or something. Even if he’s not, no big deal to me arse long as he doesn’t shoot my arse.

Having a handgun safely holstered is ok out in the open. The douchers walking around with AKs and ARs in taciti-cool gear are the ones that make us look bad
there’s a time and a place for walking around with an AR. Getting coffee at McDonald’s to get attention is not that time.
I carry concealed because I don’t like advertising

During the zombie apocalypse or at the camp going on a pig hunt. Those guys that do that are douchebags.
