Nothing you guys have posted or linked to says carrying a gun REDUCES your chance of being injured with a gun.

The idea that the average Joe or Jane would reduce their risk of being injured by a gun by carrying a gun is just stupid.

It would be like saying a person who flies on a airplane daily has less risk of being injured in an airplane than a person who never flies.
