It shouldn’t be a self-loathing monument. If they touched on it, good. It shouldn’t be the focal point of the entire thing like so many people seem to want.

Yeah, that was tried when the US forcibly shipped the Southern Tribes out to modern day Oklahoma.
The tribes still got fricked over by the Curtis Act and the denial of the Sequoyah Convention by the US Congress.

Luckily, the republicans maintain solid control over SD. The governor is pretty good. So, not in the near future. But, liberals permeate their thinking elsewhere after moving their crappy homelands. Maybe they’ll go after SD in the future to grow granola and climb trees, like Colorado.
