The dirty little secret is that it's very common for a lot of these inner-city kids to graduate high school with a 4.0 but with something like a 16 on the ACT. LSU tells them to apply test optional. And because these students don't have ACT scores recorded in LSU's system, they aren't counted when LSU inevitably touts their "highest ever freshman ACT scores." It's a complete joke.

After spending almost three decades in public schools, I have fake data that would both infuriate and nauseate you. Whether is academic or disciplinary, the majority of data is faked/skewed for one reason - to muddy the disparity of the results between races.

Wow how times change.

I’ve been highly critical of Tate and my posts generally get massive downvotes. Yours got massive upvotes, so perhaps people are realizing what a charlatan he was at LSU.

Events on campus this fall finally pushed more of the alumni focused on sports and Tate not forcing black coaching hires to actually read the fine print on those ‘increasing’ voluntary ACT super scores and see how only having 47% of the 2024 freshman class submit scores pushed inflated GPAs to be rewarded with scholarships and honors admissions. That’s even before the increasing number of Pell grant eligible out of state enrollees gets factored in.

Unfortunately it may be a little too late as nothing appears to have changed this fall with the targeted recruitment or making SAT/ACT scores mandatory for the 2026 fall applicants which will likely lead to the 3rd fall freshman class in a row that white students make up less than half of the incoming fall freshman class.

Without reform on admissions and LSU controlled or funded scholarships/grants it’s very likely that by the fall of 2027 whites will become the plurality of the undergraduate enrollees on LSU’s campus instead of the majority, and they aren’t being replaced by high achieving kids from well off 1st or 2nd generation immigrants from India like at Texas.

While Tate sounded reasonable and moderate with public comments, behind the scenes he was pushing DEI hard in admissions.

Not true and actually he was instrumental in bringing back fraternities line DKE which is hardly a DEI frat

Batin Rudge, woke administration, and non-existent admission standards have all conspired to make LSU what is now.

It is heartbreaking.

Son visited 3 years ago. When we drove onto campus he said we can turn around and go home now. He went to Tech and loves it.

I visited LSU last in 2013. How could it have gotten so bad so quickly? It looked perfectly fine then. I sense a lot of exaggeration.

What would look different these days?

It’s in Baton Rouge, enough said

LSU has always been in Baton Rouge and it has not always been ghetto.

I think it’s hilarious coming from a guy named Dallas Tiger and you might want to pretend that the same shite did not happen to Dallas. Dallas, Houston and San Antonio have become the biggest shite holes in Texas.

I’m not arguing with you, I just find your hypocrisy laughable.

It will be an interesting sociological experiment at the very least.

Experiment? We already know the outcome. Total failure and laughable.

I took my daughter on a tour of colleges several years ago. We started at Auburn, Alabama was next, then Tulane, Loyola, and lastly LSU. LSU was the least impressive by far. After the tour she would not consider it and I sadly understood why.

I was an out of state student. I loved Louisiana, I loved the Cajun culture, and I loved LSU. If I had it to do over again and wanted the same experience I would not even consider LSU. I would head to UL-L.

LSU was never quite SMU, but it was in the discussion.

Now, it is in a different discussion entirely.

One frat while white enrollment was dropping in both % of freshman and total undergraduate enrollment and in number of enrollees for both. I bet he fooled more than you on this and got some press doing it.

Sports and I guess a white fraternity are the white alumni’s bling bling distracting them from what was happening with DEI undergraduate enrollment focus.

Deke just got back on after serving seven years of a 10 year suspension.

No one was more anti-Greek than Bill Jenkins. He wanted the entire Greek system gone and started with the easy targets. I don't care what anyone else thinks of Kathleen Blanco but when she fired that South African bum she endeared herself to me.
