As far as strictly carrying, I don't find it particularly dangerous to do so while stoned. Although I understand many people, especially those that have never smoked, will vehemently disagree.

Wait, you don’t smoke pot then shoot people? What’s wrong with you?

Some folks can drive ok after a few, but alcohol or weed does impair reflexes, and judgement.

Kinda surprised most are ok with it.

Just change the damn scheduling and let the dominos fall from there. They were set to carry out hearings on rescheduling but the DEA cancelled it after Trump took office (hearings were scheduled under previous admin).

It’s still absolutely ridiculous that it’s Schedule I. It’s the single biggest hurdle to addressing the gun laws, widespread legalization, and possession laws.

Does casually drinking alcohol prevent you from purchasing and owning a firearm? No? Why should it be any different with THC?

Well, I would say carrying is more analogous with having car keys in your pocket. But in any case, my reasoning for not finding carrying while stoned alarming is because weed tends to make people less aggressive, easily offended, and rash in judgement, not more, as opposed to alcohol.

Yeah. I may have misread the OP.

I'm not against having weed on my person, and having a gun on me or in my possession.

I would be against someone carrying while high, in a public space, just like if they were drunk.

I picked up THC many times for my wife while carrying, no problems

What happens when MADD defines "drunk" as being .02 BAC? The ratchet will always get tighter, never looser. But we don't need these laws anyway, because, you know, if you commit an actual crime, there's a law for that already. Maybe a misdemeanor which isn't disqualifying to possess firearms, but that's it.

I know many will disagree with me, but gun laws are nearly the only thing that is enforced with such draconian measures in most locales. Drive drunk with kids not in car seats? Suspended license, no jail time, it'll be fine. You'll get pulled over on the suspended license, whine, and you'll get told (again) how to apply for a hardship license. Smack the frick out of someone in a grocery store because of some inconvenience, you may get a ride (maybe.) You'll end up with less of a fine than someone that stole $100 worth of shite from Wal-Mart, yet one was a violent action.

that's a felony

eta: as weed as become de-stigmatized and more openly talked about, I've mentioned this to a few coworkers and they were all shocked. they had been doing the same and had no idea.

Gun
Bullets
Beer/weed

You can only have 2 of the 3

That's how I was raised and how I operate... unless it's a pellet or bb gun, then set em up, knock em down, and have one hell of a time

Where is anyone here saying being a casual user of marijuana should prevent a person from buying and owning a firearm?

Also kind of weird flex when responding to the below:

Yes. Along with allowing non violent offenders to get their rights back. People shouldn't be continually punished for what they did 10+ years ago. Especially when they have gotten their shite together and been a model citizen since.

Also felons.

It is unconstitutional.

100% agree. I would also add that we should allow 5 year olds to bring guns to schools, people to come to presidential speeches with rifles and firearms allowed at high school football games. If it's unconstitutional to not allow a felon to have a gun, then why not give them guns while they are in jail? I'm also for letting people with severe mental disorders have guns, because of, you know, the constitution.
