Most people don't know how to change oil or even a flat tire much less drive a stick.

Saw a guy with a Texas tag and a Yeti 65 in the back of his van being assisted by the DOTD motorist assistance people the side of the road the other day.
Not a good look for Texas men.

I use to, but the older I got the more of a pain in the arse it was.... I find it easier to spend 40 bucks...

For me it came down to oil disposal. Changing the oil was easy and made me feel "like a man", but it sure was a pain in the arse to take the oil container down to the auto parts store to dispose of the oil for each of our cars. After a few years I came to the conclusion that it is not worth the effort to save a few dollars.

It's a man's job if he can't afford to pay someone else to do it

Sure as hell wouldn't let Wally World do it. Your dealership can usually do it in less 30 min.

Nothing's free. You paid for it.

Is it the mans job to change oil? Or is it walmart or some other oil changing place's job?
I'm 69 and still change my on oil. I change tires when necessary, drive a stick shift even when it's "3 on the tree" (<- column shift for you millennials). I do my own brake jobs when necessary, etc. so I guess the answer for me is thread title ... me.

If a woman can wash my clothes and dishes, she can get the free car wash after the oil change

I let the dealer do it. Looks really good when you go to trade it in or when you're trying to sell it. It's not worth my time to even change my clothes to do it. After paying for the oil and filter, how much are you really saving? 20 bucks? Not me.

I don't do any maintenance on the cars I have, I assume since they are newer 2015 and 2016 I would have to take it in bc the mechanic would have some obscure tool that I don't have.
When I had my truck and mustang, everything was easily accessible so I could do oil, brakes, air and fuel filter, radiator fluid and trans fluid change

On my truck I DIY because the oil filter is on top the engine right under the hood and I like Royal Purple and to inspect the seals every change.
On my van I got to Take 5 and get the $30 special with the $5 off coupon.
