If you're trying to make this a generational thing...here's obesity rates by age. Sorry to break it to you, but every generation in the U.S. is fat nowadays. Even yours, kiddo.

Bro what kind of broke arse airline are you flying? Even Spirit has air conditioning!!!

Also, nobody wants your knees touching them.

Typically I am flying from Houston or back to Houston. That usually involves being outside in the heat both pre and post flight

Also, I am not fat frick and can contain myself in my seat.

The correct term is "millidiots"

I can't understand the that you need to be comfortable, flying today is a miserable experience, you should do what you can to make it as pleasant as you can, FOR EVERYONE.

There is a vast difference between wearing comfortable clothes and wearing your tattered PJ's and this isn't limited to flying, it's going to the grocery store, IHOP, anyplace out in public I see people with zero self-respect. I was in Sam's a few years ago, there was a rather large "queen" in a mu-mu, not one she purchased recently, one of the strap fell off her shoulder while pushing her cart, massive left teat was exposed, the next day I enrolled at Costco.

You are assuming that these "kids" are professionals and not just going to visit some friends. What if the shaggy looking dude you were describing just lost their home and they are leaving the city to be with family?

Each of these situations has been a possibility since the dawn of public air travel. People just used to have pride in their appearance. Stop focusing on outliers to describe the average flier.

Obviously this is just a shift in cultural norms, as that happens constantly, but this one has been rather abrupt, imo.

Why the frick would I want to wear a suit flying? I’ll rock the sweats and call it a day. Much rather be comfy on a flight and change once I get to my destination.

Are you so fat that a decent pair of jeans/slacks and shirt is too uncomfortable for you?

When your fat legs take up 75-90% of the hallway, it is impossible to not have them in my vision.

The least you could do is cover them with a blanket, tarp, or tent.

No way are the people that legally CC the ones making everyone dress trashy.

If you are upset about the average flier not being dressed nice to sit arm to arm next to a strangers for hours... you must be miserable in your life. I don't have time to worry about stuff like that.

That sounds like your problem.

I am comfortable on and off the plane, the only way to fly

My biggest pet peeve with peoples attire while flying is flip-flops and sandals. Now I don't inherently have any problems with those as footwear. But coming from a safety perspective drilled into my thought process from work and life in general, what happens if the plane goes down? You're not going to be able to effectively exit a crash site without destroying your feet. If you're tip-toeing over broken glass and twisted metal, you're putting my families lives at risk. All to say 20 seconds at TSA.

As former Navy Seal and survival expert Clint Emmerson says, "Always wear shoes you can run or fight in."

I don't even think the PJ thing is laziness...it's actually an attempt at fashion.

Now, this is proper thinking.

You slobs dress how you want. I choose to dress nice (business wear sans tie) when flying because you have to deal with all sorts of people when you travel (ticket agents, baggage curbside checkers, TSA, flight attendants, ground transportation, etc.) and I have found that they treat you with better attitude, courtesy and respect if you are dressed nicely vs. if you look like to just came from a slumber party or working out at the gym.

If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

just trying to maximize the performance of gods temple. Shorts allow the relaxation that the holy spirit needs to survive an otherwise unpleasant experience
