Totally?

If You have over 7 figures sitting in a BOA bank account then you really do need financial advice.

Credit Union did all that for me on car loans back when I had no more than a few thousand in an account.
My Big Bank is closing local branches, so I tested the waters with a local bank by opening a small checking account. The local bank officer couldn’t be nicer. You can tell they are trying to develop that personal relationship.
Spouse has a small account with her family member at Regions. The local branch calls her monthly to see how things are going.

Chase seems to have the best Private client for large banks, but we pair that with a credit union depending on need. BoA and Wells are 2nd tier large banks IMO.

None of them will be like the old community banks including the community banks.
Tell Junior to apply for a loan at the dealer and then do whatever guarantees the dealer’s lender of the day wants. Junior should have his own banking relationship and now is a good time to start.
I use Capital One and a regional, Fidelty Bank. I have issues with both. I do not have loans right now. I think all the banks hate checking accounts right now.

At BOA, in order to get that information, it requires making an online application, and that hits my credit report, which counts against my credit score
Probably already said, but change banks

We use Gulf Coast Bank and I have had my banker call me must to check in if balances seemed off,

Rural small town banks. My wife’s grandma still calls the bank to check her balance and to confirm deposits.

In my experience the level of accommodation and arse kissing from the bank is directly related to the balance in the account.

I always like this analogy.
Borrow a few thousand from the bank, the bank owns you.
Borrow a few million from the bank, you own the bank.
The reason this is true is that when you owe a few thousand to a bank they can easily write it off, no big issue, it is the cost of doing business, but if you owe millions they are at your mercy and want their money back and will do anything in their power to make sure they get repaid even if that means lending you more money at greater risk of losing more.

I use a local bank for my checking, kids savings and my emergency fund account, and have a banker I can call anytime that can fix more or less any issue in short order. I use my brokerage company/financial advisor for my larger accounts from retirement to things that can be liquid within a day or two. I have relationship people at both places and it has been very helpful from not having to sit on hold to shopping rates for re-fi, etc to math from on expert on whether its best to take a chunk out of something and pay for a vehicle up front or finance. Not stuff I can't figure out, but advice from someone I trust that does these thins for a living.

Personal relationships with bankers out you in a position to be manipulated for their financial gain...
Posted on 2/19/21 at 11:03 am to HubbaBubba
These days with automation and the internet, no bank can make money by having people waiting around for a call to make a car loan. Their just isn’t enough income potential on a $30,000 loan at 2%.

add, frick Capital One.
Their online banking platform is solid but they’re far from a relationship type bank.
They’re really more of a credit card company
